I believe a while back Dhali said Ian wanted to be a director of goalies and have goalie coaches, drafting goalies and goalie development as his responsibilities. I think he didn’t want to be on the ice working directly with goalies (or not as much) and there was a disagreement with management about that, so I think he is scouting goalies for the team now. I don’t know how much he is involved now. He does have input still about goalie selection, so he isn’t completely gone, but he isn’t around the Canucks working directly with goalies. They must have come to some sort of understanding. He is still with the team I believe, but not in the same goalie coach capacity.

He had to step away as an everyday goalie coach as his body would not let him on the ice everyday. He had ideas of how to transition a new role but the organization didn't go for it. He is still with the team just not on the ice like before so I think Demko was the one who was most upset with this. But for Clarke it was a matter of blown knees I think that was just making it it too difficult.

I’m starting to wonder if there isn’t a faction of media - likely more local than beyond - that has it in for management; moreso than the average rational fan. Unless there’s something they know that we don’t, it’s just a mischaracterization of what happened - a deliberate one, at that.
