Anyone else love the fact that Doc is just spitting on this team right now?
The 'Chain of Command' is the chain I am going to beat you with until you understand I am in charge.

One of the best things about this season is the Leaves are a train wreck.

Mike Gillis name being flouted around as possible GM for Toronto.

Well, other than the Steamer - MG was the winningest GM in Canuck's history with a .626%.Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Tue Mar 31, 2026 5:09 pm Mike Gillis name being flouted around as possible GM for Toronto.
Giving him another kick at the can, and if he hires out a decent front office - say a Chris Pronger, and a Brett Peterson type... he might be able to turn the corner. Not worth the risk.
I'd prefer them to hire Rob Blake, and flesh out the office with a Peter Chiarelli, and a John Ferguson Jr. type again.

I like the past player as POHO and a ex-agent as GM.JelloPuddingPop wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2026 10:18 amWell, other than the Steamer - MG was the winningest GM in Canuck's history with a .626%.Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Tue Mar 31, 2026 5:09 pm Mike Gillis name being flouted around as possible GM for Toronto.

POHO to oversee Player evaluations, and GM with experience and savvy to get good contracts done.
Could be because of the individuals themselves, but this system seems to be working well in Montreal.
It's all about the lowered expectations

Re: Raking Leaves with David Ayers Zamboni
Willy just came out (:look:) and said that he's not on board for a full rebuild and would only possibly remain if it was the type of retool that Treliving was doing. I'm sure Pigman is already more than ready to bolt.
As I mentioned before, guys in their 20s, top guys in their primes aren't into wasting time burning in hell. They want to win. We're not ready to win, so this is the time maximize a player's value while it's still there. This is the type of weaponizing the media wanted from the previous regime.
You can always find placeholder vets that can "protect" the young guys better than the EPs, Kanes and Debrusks of the world...
But yeah, thanks for your continuing work, Doc

I doubt Mike Gillis' dogs are in the same universe as the Steamer's classic dogs.
