These guys can't get out of their own way.
These fucking guys....

Canucks Head Coach Adam Foote was asked postgame about his decision to sit the young Swede for the back of the third period and overtime:

“It’s more of the defensive side of it,” Foote explained. “He’s getting there, for sure. The more time he’s with us, the more he’ll know certain things, and the trust will be there. It’s just slight movements defensively that…it’s just being young. It’s not even a mistake…he’s a smart guy. He’ll get that pretty quick.”

You really think Foote wants Lekkerimaki passing DeBrusk at even strength scoring when DeBrusk has played 54 games with average ice time of 17:18 per game; while Lekkerimaki has only played 11 games at 11:32? They are currently tied at 2 even strength goals each. Foote would look like a Moron giving DeBrusk that much ice time if that happened. The obvious answer is to keep Lekkerimaki off the ice! Best to stick with DeBrusk who has been a minute munching healthy team leader and led this team to great success all season.
