I see a Pershing, because while ultimately good, it was famously late to go into production.

He’s definitely bigger than Dahlen. If Bystedt alone is the return, that wouldn’t be a bad return. Let’s not forget that Sherwood is a middle-six winger.

Besides, he would give you someone else to bash if you get tired of Petey and the other Swedes on the roster.
Yeah. His stats and profile are at least optimistic. The 2RP on top? If that’s true, yeah go for it.

Definitely ok with Bystedt and a 2nd for Sherwood!

Question I have is why is SJ so interested in Kiefer right now? They aren’t really in contention to do much in the playoffs.

If the Canucks brass is doing their job I hope this package is out there so one of the real contenders make an offer that’s a little sweeter!

You make a lot of sense ap.

Unless Greer feels a couple of quickie minor additions of hole filling pieces get them into the tournament and perhaps win a round creating invaluable experience for the young group set to lead the Sharks to many future years of Canuck crushing.

Agents are so involved in player movement these days.

Who knows what sort of extension they may be talking behind closed doors as well....

...but yeah..

As I've said a number of times...if our resident Gurus aren't creating a bidding war for Sherwood, especially with the smallish group of legit contenders, they are not doing their jobs.

Well word is the the Canucks are working with Sherwood's agent to facilitate a trade. I take that to mean that before the trigger is pulled his agent is looking at whether an extension is doable. That maybe the hold up. To get a good return it would make sense that the buying team knows they can extend him.
The only HW the Canucks need

You are most likely right HW, which could also be the difference between a 1st or 2nd round pick coming back.

Allvin really needs to cool it with the Swedish overkill; ditto Rutherford and his American obsession.

I can't stomach these guys in charge of cleaning up their own mess. When will they be gone? FFS!
Hughes, Tocchet, Miller, and Horvat are all a bunch of quitters

I tried to pass a doobie to Cliff at a house party and he had a shit fit then went out to his SL500 and did a burnout out of there. Cliff hates the Cousin
LOL

He had a hockey stick company in Burnaby for a while - BASE hockey. They custom fit you with custom sticks, using super slo-mo cams to dissect your shot etc. Pretty neat stuff. OK sticks.

They had a facility with two small rinks of artificial ice - super weird to skate on. But as I was out there by myself testing some curves while they were setting up in the other room, he threw on some skates and said "lets do some one timers!!!" with all the energy of a 5 year old.

He passed the puck over to me for a few muffins at the net - the demanded a few passes himself. It was eye-opening being on the ice with someone who could shoot that hard. Just remember him hitting the crossbar at some point and the puck came rocketing back and hit the camera and he squeaked. I couldn't stop laughing.

Fun times.
I went to high school with Cliff. He was shorter than me but ten times as strong. I remember during the playoffs he was walking down the school hallway looking for a place to plug in a tv, which was of course one of those tube monstrosities that you can barely get your arms around.

Not sure you'll get sweeter.

Any draft pick coming from a contender would have to be a 1RP to trump a 2RP from SJ. In that case you are likely getting a bottom-6 pick. San Jose's 2RP could easily be in the top-14 of the 2nd round. Bystedt is a valuable prospect, his AHL numbers are decent, and he's shown year-over-year progression. Yes, he's 21 instead of 18, but at this point that might make him more of a known commodity than a roll of the dice in the 2nd round.

I don't know if any contenders will pay a 1st and a similar prospect for Sherwood.....I doubt it.

This is fair! And he did play in Anaheim so perhaps there’s a California connections he’d like to get back to long term if he’s leaving Van.

A Sherman tank.

There is lots of the running around, but one good hit, and they go up in flames.

Embracing the tank is nothing short of drinking the kool aid from this incompetent management group.

While the laughable attempts at filling centre position are in and out of non contact jerseys, Quinn Hughes is entering MVP discussions and telling the media that with the players around him, he feels he can score every night.

Fans have been told to cast their eyes away from Vancouver and instead to glance at the AHL and CHL.

Yeah....they have to go.

They can not be allowed to be the harbingers of our fate.

But FA is Jerry Jones and seems unlikely to step aside and allow a Mike Greer, Pat Verbeek or Kent Hughes (et cetera) to take the reigns without meddling.

How much is he paying for people no longer employed here?

I mentioned a couple of what I feel to be credible GM options last week at this here GDHTMB.

That is the first domino that needs to fall.

Get someone with experience, intelligence and vision in here to take this thing down to the studs.

I agree with Topper.

Very unlikely.

.....and yes dipshits, from the top down.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding here…..

If one feels a rebuild is necessary, which I believe all of us here do, does one not have to embrace the tank when the assets we have to sell off would not otherwise bring the same return?

No...he's saying considering who is driving the tank embracing it is moot because it's going in a ditch anyway and little they have accomplished/managed would suggest otherwise.....

Which I think I addressed in the following post.
