I see your perspective and it definitely makes sense.

I just want to see them trade Pettersson before they lose their nerve on the rebuild concept.
I don’t think any drafted players, or prospects acquired via trade, will impact Petey’s game enough that it could alter the trajectory towards rebuild.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

Wow. I hope Pagnotta knows what he's talking about.

This is very encouraging.
Hughes, Tocchet, Miller, and Horvat are all a bunch of quitters

I hope it’s a heftier price than Chytl, Mancini, Meaty and O’Connor that we got for our then actual #1 center.

Who knew DOC was the real prize? /s

Maybe he does maybe he doesn't Megs.

But Pagnotta is as legit as any of the talking heads in my opinion...more so than most is my belief....

Anything resembling that would be a MASSIVE win in a year we need any kind of win for our sanity's sake. I suppose the Hughes trade was too, but the past several weeks brought reality crashing down to earth at just how long this baby's gonna take.

I'd also categorize management actually saying the word rebuild minus the hybrid adjective a win. Only problem is we all know how things change with these clowns. A two game win streak and it's retool time again.

That return (assuming “another big piece” is some teams best prospect or a legit young NHLer with upside or at worst, another 1st) would almost justify retaining a couple million for six years.

The tough one to get moved is Boeser. Who wants an expensive, slow and soft floater who can occasionally open his eyelids enough to bat in easy rebounds or pick the odd corner?

We were so close...so close.... :(

Boeser could be Louis Eriksson 2.0 in 4 years.

Really not sure why they signed him all things considered.

Potential reasons:

Thought would help with Hughes
FA interference
Optics over inability to sign "promised" second line centre
Had to do "something" to generate fan interest
They don't know wtf they are doing

....none of those are good.

I suspect they were thinking of using Boeser's money for a #2 centre that never materialized. When the music stopped and they still didn't have their #2 centre, going back to Boeser was likely plan B. They were just lucky that nobody was making Boeser an offer he couldn't refuse.

That should have been they're first clue.

Boeser as a plan B to not acquiring the promised centre moves towards proof of the "heads up their collective asses" theorem.

Brock without a winger carrying, top end centre/space clearer is a useless entity.

It's pretty obvious even for the HR managers, which number is missing from the winning 649 ticket.

Hopefully, the Sherwood trade comes soon so there's no chance he will be around to stall this tank.

Brock sort of makes sense as Plan B when there is no Plan C and you are absolutely desperate to convince Quinn Hughes that you’re not a bunch of incompetent losers..
