Jeezus, nobody's touching Peter's anchor contract with a ten-foot pole, you guys.

The guy is such a buzz kill, and that contract, it can't be done.

He has top end upside still despite what Mëds thinks and if you eat1 - 1.5 it's not that outrageous.

You probably aren't getting back much for top end return but there should be at least 1B asset (1st - 2nd , or decent prospect plus a bad contract coming back

Yes it can snd yes it will. 479 points in 500 games. Attention to 2,way play. 27, signed long term and when he's on ( like 80 % of his career he's a top 10 forward). Some team WILL believe they can unlock the talent. You make it sound like he's Eric Gudbranson at 8 schmill a year.,Put the hate and anger aside. He's moveable but they may have to take a 5 million winger along with Byfield to balance the cap hits when they close the deal with LA.

The Pettersson loathing here is akin to the Dude bashing the teams best GM for 15 years.

Even though it felt like it I'm going to argue that Benning is not the team's best GM Blob

Don’t think Petey, Demko, or Garland are moving. That would mean a rebuild, and I think that isn’t what a hybrid retool is. I still can’t figure out if a hybrid retool is an uncommitted retool, or an uncommitted rebuild? But I’m guessing it will end up being the no plan plan in the end.

55 years of futility means EVERY gm deserves their fair share of criticism.

The ones that built the cores that we've all cheered for deserves some praise no matter how one feels... that includes Burke/Nonis and yes, Benning.

I really hope so Blob, that'd be big for us. But I'm just not a believer, I think he's kind of radioactive out there.

It all depends upon which parts of the clickbait rumours are and are not true.

The team is in thirty-second place, and we're in a hybrid retool on the fly.

I don't understand why everyone isn't excited.

I'm not excited. For various reasons I choose not to be angry about the team like Dude and some others. I see some positivity, but that's just me.

I’m excited about the next two drafts, and a possibility of a quick rebuild. Does that count?
I’m not excited about this draft’s centres, but there are top line wingers available of which the Canucks IMO currently have no legitimate ones.
If management drafts from this draft’s strength, which is always a good strategy, they could end up with a top line winger in McKenna, Stenberg, or Belchetz, which would be a great start.
The strength of the 2027 draft is looking like centres. If the Canucks can get a legitimate top line centre out of that draft they could be on their way. My biggest concern is management will try to patch holes by trading away draft picks; but if not, this management has assembled a team that has a very good shot at the top draft pick in both 2026 and 2027. Now that’s exciting!
