Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays all

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

Yes - this most of all. I know a lot of people on this board are facing some health problems. I hope things get better in the new year! Hang in there, it's a long journey sometimes.

Quite Christmas for us here too. We are going to Leves favorite restaurant for Christmas (the only one open Christmas in this town) - Mr. Mike's.

The whole family will be over on Dec. 26 for a turkey dinner at our place.

Lol, BCE. You still have Mr. Mike's?

I'm going to be hanging in a McDonald's somewhere guzzling coffee.

Enjoy Christmas dinner!

Merry Christmas y'all. Kids are more or less teenagers now so Christmas has lost some of the magic. Shopping is easier though as you just buy exactly what is on their list; no surprises anymore. Usually Christmas Eve and the day itself at my sister's, but this year it will only be the Christmas dinner, so it won't feel like it's dragging on like in past years. Would rather just make some sushi and watch a movie with the boys, and hopefully we'll be lucky enough to have the wife join. Lately I've gotten a distaste for the excesses of Christmas and I'm happy when it's over, though I do enjoy the downtime and laying about.

Yeah there are a lot of Mr. Mike's here in Alberta. We usually go there for appetizers and a drink during happy hour, a few times a month. It's close to home, so we could walk there if we had to.

2Fingers wrote: Wed Dec 24, 2025 8:55 am Merry Christmas one and all, I love this time of the year. Usually I am at my sisters for Christmas dinner but last year and this one I have to stay home as my blood counts are not high enough to be in a crowd in a house. My kids are coming over and it will be chicken with all the works and of course I am getting some whisky (my doctor said I was allowed a couple drinks a week).

Bring on 2026 and a top 3 pick in the draft.
Enjoy 2Fingers, and may you be well again in the New Year.

Doing our big family shindig today. It’s chaotic.

5 kids all under 12.

Wife’s sister remortgages their home every year to spoil them (no kids of her own, so she doesn’t have to deal with the post gift nightmare or wound up kids…..or figure out where to store all this shit).

Christmas Day will be very quiet. Just gotta get through the next 6 hours.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

Merry Christmas All - hope you get through it well, with good eats, fine drinks and health/happiness.

Going to be a quiet one here, we are in the middle of a deep freeze (-46C this morning) - makes travelling a bit dangerous unfortunately (we live a ways out of town) - so the usual guests are staying close to home.

Doesn't bother me any though, lots of leftovers makes for less cooking for the rest of the week! And more time in the shop.
