Can anyone summarize exactly what that Kirk guy said that had so many left learners hating on him so?

I spent a short amount of time listening to him (post assassination) and he didn't strike me as saying anything that should've enraged so many people this much...

One of the things his Turning Point USA organisation did was create the Professor Watchlist, a list of left-leaning professors with views on feminism, racial ideology, or climate change that didn't agree with his version of conservatism. These academics were subsequently subject to persistent harassment including death threats, rape threats, and doxxing. If Charlie were a decent person he would have taken the list down once he saw the impact.

And of course, he didn't have the decency to debate any of these professors on their views before putting them on his list, he just sicced his rabid fanbase on them. Instead he debated college students to claim his "victories".

I think I mentioned this at the time, but I had heard of him, and not really paid much attention to him. So I just went to his "X" profile to see what he had to say. I wasn't impressed.
