Of all the Canuck disappointments this season, he might be the biggest one. I expected much more from him.
Really? I was just hoping he wouldn't be too much of detriment.

As for this fame, it was blacked out. So.... did we suck, or just get outplayed by a superior team?

This game just showed that this team just doesn’t have the horses to run with Colorado. Even with Garland, Höglander and Chytil back, I don’t know if they win tonight.

Maybe we should just buckle up…

1 out of 4. Race to the bottom seems to be on now.

We are now one point from tying for dead last... and I could not be more excited.

My only concern is that instead of trading vets and loading up with bullets (picks), they go with their plan of gambling on young-ish prospects. You don't get a better opportunity to rebbb... this quickly any other way, IMO.

In fact, I hope for one more year of pain as the 2027 draft is apparently also very good.

So agree with Hank the Tank. Sell off the UFA and perhaps the gnome. I think Hughes wants out. Pick up nothing but picks and prospects back. This can be a quick turn and burn with 2027-28 being a fun year for fans. I'd be scouring the planet for a Prez. Stay the fuck out of the way Fredo

I would say that the 2027 class is deeper than the 2026 class.

I’d settle down on your hopes for draft picks in return for selling off vets. According to multiple media personalities Canucks management have let it be known that they want players under 25 preferably over draft picks. They seem very opposed to getting draft picks back. Same old, same old bullshit, folks. One step forward and two steps back - the Aqualini Era.

The disconnect between what the fans want here and what ownership and management want here knows no bounds.

I read yesterday that several teams are in on Sherwood and the ask is a pick AND a player.

Yeh Blob, Luigi needs to send someone to take a boat ride with Fredo. Need a better poker player for Prez... maybe Silent Bob.

As I thought, but this franchise has no foresight or patience. The can't handle a re-bbb. They rather rise back up to the mushy middle of teams that just barely miss the playoffs asap.

Refusal to hoard picks and suffer for a few years during possibly franchise-altering deep drafts will likely mean any of your assets will be aged quickly by mushyocrity and they will demand out to contenders and we're eventually left with totally empty cupboards.

I know what the fans' and even the media's fantasy is compared to the delusions of this ownership group.

They're taking what little of value in players they have left, going to a pawnshop and receiving a few sheckles for them, then betting everything on black at the roulette table. Absolutely infuriating.

Given the class of these 2 upcoming drafts, it's asinine for them not to see this best solution staring them in the face like those empty lower bowl seats and the success of the other teams next door. I have little hope for these guys to do the right thing.

I think the problem is that the fans see the team 3rd from the bottom of the league, the owners see us 'only' 5 points out of the wild card spot.

Add in them thinking, "If we had Demko, Chytil, and Hoglander in all year, we'd be right up there!"

...along with that 5 points back the owners also see potential gate and additonal playoff revenue.

That's one major issue here.

AIG always pushed by $$ as opposed to creating a legitimate foundation for success.

I’ve read that to, which has me worried in that when you’re doing the math on a potential multiple asset return for a 30 year old bottom 6 player like Sherwood, whom I may add is on the verge of UFS status, I’m just seeing a watered down package like what we’ve come to expect from this management group. I mean, nobody in their right mind is going to offer a 1st rd pick and a good young player package for Sherwood but more like a 3rd rd pick and a middling young player.

Can we honestly for once just try to max out the return pound for pound? The multiple player/asset return is just a ruse put on by the inquiring team at the end of the day, especially for someone like Sherwood. Dwindled down garbage assets on a case by case evaluation.

Agreed with your post.

Irrespective of the round we need to load up on picks.

Pound for pound would be nice.....
