Back to the future vibes.
So are you all going to bet money on this, now that you already know the score?

I think that is the difference between you and me Mëds... I'm not piling on - just calling a spade a spade. And certainly not constantly, and in every one of my posts.
That’s the best defense for hypocrisy that I’ve ever read.JelloPuddingPop wrote: ↑Fri Oct 31, 2025 7:25 amI think that is the difference between you and me Mëds... I'm not piling on - just calling a spade a spade. And certainly not constantly, and in every one of my posts.
And I talk about all the players on the team, Lankinen for example has been in my crosshairs as well - though I'll say, he played pretty well last night.
Its a team game, and they'll only go so far as their depth will take them. (and goaltending, because lets be real here).
I'll admit, I'm not a fan of Petey - I'd prefer to have a Mackinnon, McDavid or a Pasternak type instead, with that type of money. But I feel the level of "piling on" him the last year by one or two members of this GDHTMB was a bit much. Similar to the Blob/Chef GM shit. It got to me, so I decided to be the positive voice in that argument.
This year, it wasn't supposed to start for another 8 games give or take. So I decided to let my real perspective on the player dictate my posts until that bullshit starts again.
I'm a fan of this team, and have been for a long time. Fandom comes with sacrifice. Be ye learned.
I didn't see those games, but just based on production, he was trending upwards. Like I said about this game - he should have stepped up tonight against a weak team and been a difference maker. If not now, when?
Yes, I suppose I am expecting too much. And I'm not the one writing his cheques.2Fingers wrote: ↑Fri Oct 31, 2025 9:33 am EP is not a player who can single-handedly lead the team to wins or dominate games, so expecting him is moot at this point. Yes, his salary dictates this, but he doesn’t, so why get your knickers in a knot when he fails?
I’m a lifelong fan of the Canucks and all I saw was a W yesterday on a gutsy win, so I will take that (at least today).
Yep. That was what some of us saw early on, and it became more certain in the last 4 months of his second contract, and it was blatantly obvious in the playoffs that year. There was a reason why a contingent of fans were calling for him to be traded before July 1st of this year.2Fingers wrote: ↑Fri Oct 31, 2025 9:33 am Plus the level of his teammates which is not at the same level when he started. That sounds like Pius Suters game.Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Fri Oct 31, 2025 11:29 am Maybe we're looking for stuff to complain about with this guy

Could be. As I said, I didn't watch this one.dangler wrote: ↑Fri Oct 31, 2025 11:47 amThat sounds like Pius Suters game.Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Fri Oct 31, 2025 11:29 am I thought he played a pretty solid game. He was responsible in his end, won more draws than he lost and kept their top line off the board. He was trying to cut through their d with some dangles.
Maybe we're looking for stuff to complain about with this guy
Sure he shouldn't " be a player who can single handily lead the team to wins or dominate games" every night, but it's not unreasonable to expect it once in awhile.
