‘the smaller Aegean islands’ means any islands in the Aegean Sea except the islands of Crete and Evia.

The 3rd one I think you might be right. The last one was a double deflection. It just nicked the defender's leg and then went just over his shoulder.JelloPuddingPop wrote: ↑Sat Oct 25, 2025 7:05 pmI'd say the last two goals, a better goalkeeper would have stopped.Mëds wrote: ↑Sat Oct 25, 2025 6:57 pmThe second half of that is true.JelloPuddingPop wrote: ↑Sat Oct 25, 2025 6:50 pm Tough loss. Hang that one on the PK, and the backup.
Positive, Petey, Garland and DeBrusk looked like a top line.
Definitely not on Lankinen though.

Re: L-GDT: Canadians @ Canucks Oct 25 4pm CBC
Respectfully it was a bad call even if Lankinen plays like an average nhl goalie (his ceiling). They made the decision before they had to (w/o best info on Silovs), they gave him $1.5 to $2M more than he’d get on the market for 2 years too long and trade protection that isn’t needed if you are going to overpay. The least Lankinen could do is not lose winnable games.Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Sat Oct 25, 2025 6:51 pm Let’s remember that Lankinen was kept over Silovs not because he was necessarily a better back up option but because no one knew if or how Demko would bounce back. He was kept because he was seen as a better starter option. If there had been full confidence that Demko would be Demko then I think you see a different path, for cap reasons alone. Plus, Silovs didn’t exactly play well for the Canucks last year when he did have a chance. Canucks made the right call.
Montreal had a good push after a poor first period, but honestly both of the ppgs needed a bit of puck luck. Canuck getting sticks on picks but just not getting control. Thought the game was pretty entertaining, pretty well played, pretty even in terms of chances and battle.

One game, I know, but…
Reichel looked pretty invisible out there.
Could be a rough time till Chytil comes back…

Some in the league put his ceiling above Hughes/Makar.JelloPuddingPop wrote: ↑Sat Oct 25, 2025 5:46 pm Doubt any of you have heard of this kid Hutson.
He's pretty good. Like maybe a bit better than good.
Remains to be seen but whatever the cause a helluva player.
Dynamic!!
Imagine he and Hughes on the blue line in the Olympics??!!

I'd like to hear your unbiased comments on # 40's play UW.

I’m not UW, and I won’t try and bullshit you by saying I have no bias here…..
BUT!
My take is that EP has been a much better player the last few games. He’s skating with more purpose through open ice, his defensive reads are solid as is the effort level there (see two blocked shots in the dying minutes against Washington as one example), and he is attempting to attack the middle and look for shots a bit more.
Skating with Garland and DeBrusk appears to be a good combination for him.
Last night he played almost 22 minutes, put 4 shots on the goalie, had 1G/1A (both at 5v5 I might add), was a +2, and won 50% of his defensive zone face-offs.
There were a couple of times on the PP where he was in a scoring position but the pass from Hughes was into his skates, not sure he would have one-timed it or not, but didn’t get the chance.
The only truly negative thing on the night was that he went 35% in the dot overall. Puck possession starts there and that’s something he desperately needs to improve upon. This area has the same drawback for him as others, physical strength…..he lacks it in comparison to other players.

Good summary I think Mëds…
I am he as you are he as you are me

He's probably leaning up now after the summer bulk up.
Strangely right now QH43 is the greater concern

I think we knew on draft day that was never going to be on the asset side of the ledger for him.
The good news is that's probably the single easiest athletic ability to develop. If he continues to put in the right kind of work in the off-season, he should continue to make progress there.
Edit:
Yes, he'll probably lose a lot over the course of every season, so I think the conditioning staff might want to consider whether they actually want to bring him bulkier at the start of the season than they would a typical hockey player.Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Sun Oct 26, 2025 11:56 am He's probably leaning up now after the summer bulk up.

Yes. I stand corrected.
Tbh, I stopped paying close attention to the game when they surrendered the 4th goal. Saw we brought it to within one but didn’t care beyond that Garland scored.
