He (L.Reichel) has 4 points in 5 games so far this season.
Meh, we need a legitimate centre more than anything.

Feels a bit like a Kravtsov/Baercheese/Goldobin move again. I don't expect much, but we'll see. Give him a chance I guess. Our mgmt team seems to have been trying to get him for awhile now.
Yup
If we had added a second as a sweetener, then it would feel more like one of those moves.

Good to know.

Chef Boi RD wrote: Sat Oct 25, 2025 6:23 am 1. Trade the 2026 1st rd pick
2. Trade Tom Willander
3. Trade Demko
4. Trade Quinn Hughes
5. Trade D-man Elias
6. Trade Cootes

If you ain’t willing to do that then the Reichels are the route they have to go.

The 2026 draft class is a very good class (deep class). Allvin be should fired if he traded it as we are pretty much a lottery team fighting for a wildcard position. And if we sneak in back door of the playoffs we are first round fodder.

If we trade the 2026 1st and any of our top prospects the organization will be in the mushy middle for eternity.
As far as the rest of your post goes I'll say this for now.

I (unfortunately) do lean towards the same thinking as you currently and believe there are several compelling reasons to be concerned about long term mediocrity or worse.

I don't, however, have much desire to get deep into the mire of despair 8 games into the season, hope what I am seeing and thinking is incorrect and shall wait and see what happens.

The team has been hit with a lot of negatives for so early in any season, counteracting opportunity for bonding, development and growth yet have managed to fight to a .500 record and a position of opportunity.

Let's see where this goes and what players, coaches, management and ownership do about it.

So is it true that the reason Boeser was away from the team was because his dog died?

As long as the negatives are short term, we should still be OK.
But Chytil will leave a huge hole that needs to be filled, and that's not going to be cheap.

Yeah, the disappointment with Chytil Corn is that it was so predictable yet we were seemingly unprepared for the occurrence.

Even if they were able to make a trade for a legit 2C, and the price would be high, how much further ahead would they be if EP 40 only gets 41 pts.?
They still would need 1 or 2 top 6 wingers.
As we witnessed in the summer, very few teams are letting their top end players get away and the only other way to aquire them is to draft & develop (thx captain obvious).
Imo they should fill the holes with what they have this year. If EP40 catches fire and the team gets on a serious heater, then entertain trades for assets.
Hopefully they can get a haul if Quinn decides to leave.

Blech.

Unless it means Chytil is done for.good which then equates to somewhere around status quo.

When the user can't even spell "Central" correctly (spelled it Centel), it should be a dead giveaway.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

No — there’s no confirmed trade of Pavel Zacha to the Vancouver Canucks yet.
It is being widely reported that the Canucks are interested and have him on their radar, but as of now it remains a rumor.
