Yup. Trump was made for the sport of politics.Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Sat Aug 23, 2025 9:49 am All this reinforces my position that all of these politicians are trash human beings. There are no authentic or honourable politicians.
Not one.
It's become very obvious to me that they all get into that line of work for personal gain. Period.

Yeah, it wouldn't be so bad if he were just a clown; the problem is he's the clown from IT.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Tue Aug 26, 2025 7:37 pm Trump’s lethal aversion to reading

In other news, at least 25 countries, including France, Germany, Japan, Belgium, Australia, the UK, Sweden, Denmark and Norway, have suspended parcel delivery to the USA. The reason is that Trump has revoked the de-minimis rule, under which parcels with a value not exceding USD 800 could be sent duty free to the USA.
The rule has been revoked through an executive order by Donald Trump and ends on Aug 28th.
Starting August 29th any parcel sent to the US is subject to tariffs, regardless of how low the value of its contents is.
"Key questions remain unresolved, particularly regarding how and by whom customs duties will be collected in the future, what additional data will be required, and how the data transmission to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection will be carried out," says DHL.

So if I were to send UW a box of chocolates for his birthday, there is now a USD 80 customs fee added to it.
Since the actual processes of how and by whom all this should be handled still need to be sorted out, a large number of countries have decided to just withhold all packages addressed to the USA or return them to sender.
From the outside looking in, the USA seems to have become a shit show.
I mean, dozens of countries have decided it is better to just not deliver packages to the USA then trying to figure out what they are expected to do.
Normally this type of issues would be negotiated beforehand and implemented with a reasonable timeline. But no.
