We can carry Silovs easily enough right now without any more trades. Imo, keep him until the season starts. His value will only go up as injuries pile up around the league

Hey, what is Florida's schedule in October? They were breaking a goalie every series. If they keep it up, they just build Silovs value. He will return a 3rd, or be part of a package for a young 2nd line centre with a cheap contract and some upside, or my name isn't Tci-fucking-Nostradamus-so!!

Agree, whatever his value is now, it will only go up as the season goes along. If the return is only a draft pick or prospect that won’t play next season, hold on to him and carry three goalies - at least until Demko has shown he can stay healthy for a while.
They should trade him early if he is part of a package that brings back a player they can use on the big club next season, preferably at 2C. If that trade isn’t there keep him around.

Canucks have signed 2nd-round pick Aleksei Medvedev

Allvin: “He showed us a lot at development camp and has a bright future if he continues to build on his skill set and fundamentals."

Silovs traded to Pittsburgh for a 2027 4th rd pick and a career minor leaguer named Chase Stillman, brother of former Canuck - Riley Stillman. Chase is said to have a similar game as Riley.

Canucks X is an angry beast and going off the rails over the shock of the return, lol. Goes to show you how uneducated the fans and some media are. The one scout on 650 a couple weeks back nailed Silovs value, comparing it to what CBJ got in return for Tarasov. Even Chef got tarred and feathered for agreeing with him.

For that return, I would’ve waited to see how Demko did.
Then again, I wouldn’t have signed Lankinen to the contract he got.
Oh well, Silovs is gone. He had a nice run in Abby.
Management made their bet on Demko’s health.
It’s on them if he can’t stay healthy and they miss the playoffs.

An underwhelming return, but understandable given the return for Tarasov.

At least he can only haunt the Canucks twice a year for the foreseeable future.

I wish the kid well. We’ll see how he does outside of the Ian Clark School of Goaltenders.

I have to believe there’s something to the Pittsburgh connection with management. Maybe they can do Vancouver a similar solid and take Bluegers back for picks to give Allvin some cap space to work with.

I’m not a fan of GM’s who can only trade or want to make trades with the previous franchise they worked with. Love can be blind. It also reveals a GM and their staff’s ineptness at pro scouting players they have no history with and their inability at networking, making connections with the other franchises. Allvin strikes me as a guy who is too gentle kick down doors the way Brian Burke did.

I just realized something horrible, I can no longer say ‘thank you, Jim’ when it comes to Silovs.

Well - that saga is over, and for once, management didn't run it far past its 'best buy' date. So kudos for that, I guess.

A fourth rounder = nothing.
Chase Stillman - maybe we have a reclamation project of a former 1st round pick? (that's about all we can hope for).

Good luck, Arty!

What a weak post.

Allvin has made plenty of trades with plenty of teams.

I'm not holding my breath. The kid's AHL numbers are pretty pedestrian, and his scouting reports all talk about his energy and 'two-way smarts' but questionable hands.

I'd advise him to check out the Abby real estate.

He looks like he might be a strong farmhand in Abby, that's about all he would be expected to be.

It's exactly the trade we knew was going to happen. Good luck to Arty in Pittsburgh.
