RW Gabriel Chiarot 5’11 190 - 6th round pick played with tall Canuck prospect Alriksson in Brampton at the end of last season, so scouts had a chance to view him.

Canucks pick Gabe Chiarot in R6. A winger. He's Ben Chiarot's cousin. So there's that.

Otherwise, it is round 6; he isn't some kind of skilled scorer downgraded because its stuff that won't translate to a higher level, so I'm guessing he's got enough wheels where they think he could develop an energy game. Yawn.

A hard-working forechecker with some power forward elements, Lansing has the profile of a strong defensive forward. He drives the net while fending off back pressure, sets up chances from the cycle, and gets to the net. A hard-working defensive player, he’s always getting above the puck and angling out attacks. -EliteProspects 2025 NHL Draft Guide

Lots of the same in this draft. High energy, hard-workers, forechecking, with not much high end offensive potential…and a goalie.

I'm sorry Corny. I'm in the thick of sticking a sign in my lawn and heading up country.

Blame Dude. Fuck it's like an elephant jumped off my chest. I still want to tap Hazel Mae. Kristy Gordon even. Ann Drewa.... not Ann Drennan, dude... Hargraves didn't' mean to de rail this thread but Gohmert could be an asset to this place.
Who doesn’t love Kristy Gordon? Ole Chris Gaillus does. Yvonne Schalle is starting to climb a few rungs while ole Erin Cebula is on the decline. You can’t stay top shelf forever

Scouting Report on B.Cootes

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stVHwkvfPhc

It looks like he does have pretty good wheels and the pucks just explodes off his stick pretty quick (reminds me a bit of Kuzzy). Just hope he can get stronger and build some muscle in time. Also would be interesting to see if he can put up some offensive numbers the next couple years and maybe even make Team Canada @ the World Juniors.

Hopefully he can be become the next JR (Jeremy Roenick) or as mentioned B.Point. :P

Cootes isn’t exactly small for an 18 year old. Pretty much all the sites have him around 5’-11” to 6’-0” and 183 lbs to 185 lbs. I imagine he’d will fill out more. From what I saw of him at the draft he certainly wasn’t birdbones.

Horvat is only 6 feet himself, and filled out to 215 lbs. I don't think Cootes will bulk out like Bo - Bo always had the frame to put on more beef - but Allvin or Harvey did say the kid was 'thick' in terms of frame. If Cootes fills out like Horvat to any extent, he should be fine battlin on the boards and in front of the net.

Cootes put up over a point per game on a sad Seattle team. The U18 stats are promising, but I'm looking forward to what the kid can do with better linemates on the national team to see if he really does have offensive upside. His shot is nothing to sniff at.
Love the Sport. Love the Team.

Hate the League.

The more I read about the more excited about the pick. Not just his hockey skills but he seems to be a natural leader.

Canucks better not trade him.
