Trying to think of any other players that fell off so quickly without it being injury related. I'm guessing people with a better memory (most of you) could name a couple of examples?

Huberdeau is what comes to mind
If you need air...call it in

Well, he had one great year, and then was traded. Production dropped a lot - but how much did the trade (and linemates system) drag him down

It happens in other sports. Look up Steve Blass. Pitcher who won 19 games in 1972. Next year, he could not throw a strike and was out of baseball a year later.

Despite all the bitching people do I have noticed some positives.
- He doesn't fall down as much.
- He goes to the front of the net, often.
- He hits people.
- He takes care of his own end.
- That’s where he falls down.
- And falls down.
- True. Other than faceoffs he has been very good there.
I don’t hate the player. I hate the things you just described when they are married to a player who is now the 5th highest paid guy in the league and expected to be (by this team) a franchise center. What I have also noticed is his hands seem a little slow and his skating had dipped. The Hands I am confident he can recover since he is still a young man. The skating is also something he can work hard on and correct. Up the foot speed and learn some edgework from Quinn Hughes and he will be fine.
These are not insurmountable problems. You hate him, so of course you are going to magnify his flaws.
Watch when he skates and observe that his legs are splayed at the knees. Guys who skate like this don’t develop strong edge-work because the inside skate on turns is inefficient. They also can’t generate much speed out of the gate and need a runway to get going. The Sedins skated like this. They worked on core strength and used the boards and quick short passes to each other using their twin radar. They were never fast and they were never a threat to turn on a dime or sidestep suddenly into open ice for a shot.
I won’t compare him to the Sedins tho because, for one, he has faster hands and a better shot. For two, he is more finesse and dangle than cycle-pass-shoot. And third, the Sedins were much tougher mentally.

Just production fall off or fall off right after contract?
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

Actually he had 4 good seasons and then a great seasons if you’re going by PPG.Cornuck wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2025 12:44 pmWell, he had one great year, and then was traded. Production dropped a lot - but how much did the trade (and linemates system) drag him down

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Rumours of both Florida clubs after Boeser. I don’t think they’ll want any Dmen back.
I guess they’ll want a young centre that could develop, kind of like a Raty, and a first.
Then they’ll flip the first for a scorer for the rest of this season and beyond - something like Toffoli (3x6m).
One of Soucy or Forbort could also be on the way out if they could get another top nine winger back from a contender that needs defensive depth.

Alexander Daigle
The only HW the Canucks need
Re: Re-booted SKYO approved pipe dreams and trade ideas
He never really had an impact at the NHL level, though, did he? More of "He couldn't handle the next level up".
Re: Re-booted SKYO approved pipe dreams and trade ideas
Assuming management and Rantanen could agree to terms on an extension, would Boeser + retention for Miko get it done?
