Re: Canucks News N Notes 24-25
I’m fully prepared to being underwhelmed by the trade IF a trade happens. It’s how it rolls with the Canucks. I just haven’t exactly been thrilled with any of the Baldies trades to date, I mean Hronek worked out, although the Wings get a helluva prospect from the trade in Pellika. The first rd pick from the Horvat trade was the only thing I liked about the Horvat deal but the other two assets - Raty and Beauvillier were garbage assets. Really can’t think of a trade the baldies have made that have knocked my socks off.

Re: Canucks News N Notes 24-25
At this point, I see all outcomes equally probable moving forward with this team. Last night's leave-him-out-put-him-in drama with Miller may have been the team's rock-bottom this season, and he does a 180 and takes the team with him the rest of the way. He may be traded this evening and the team falls out of playoff contention, with further management and fan angst to follow.
Miller's game last night should remind folks - especially Miller himself - how important he can be to this team going far when he's on. We keep talking about Petey's problems between his ears; Miller has proven to be just as problematic, and hopefully last night is a sign that he's coming back to 'Good' Miller. I would rather keep 'Good' Miller - allowing for the odd stretch of 'Bad' Miller, so long as he pulls out of it - than see what management can get for him in trade.

I wonder how his game would have been if he didn't have McFucktard to focus on. I think that's what got him into the game, and he excelled. Let's see if he brings the same game against Buffalo.

Miller gets a lot more cred around the league than he does at this site.

Spot on Donny.
Id say that if you’ve got teams interested in a guy who the local media (and some fans) are down on, and is in the middle of a shitstorm of alleged locker room drama, then you know he’s a value asset.
JT has been this team’s engine (for good or ill) since he arrived. Only a single season has been below 1.0 ppg, and that time just barely.
So…..team leader, offense driver, shutdown center, minute eater, faceoff winner.
How do you replace that?

Mëds, the Canucks shopping Miller is the worst kept secret in the league right now. I think you could be shit out of luck regarding shipping out Petey instead.

I’m firmly in the camp that both of them a staying and producing like they did in 2022-24 (not Petey’s post ASG) is the best scenario.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 2:03 pm Mëds, the Canucks shopping Miller is the worst kept secret in the league right now. A 100 point Pettersson and a 90 point Miller probably equals a 40G/75P Boeser, a 35G/65P DeBrusk, and a 25G/60P Garland. That’s the ideal situation, and one hard for opponents to counter.
However, Pettersson hasn’t shown me that he can do that. Therefore, his salary makes me want to move on.

Re: Canucks News N Notes 24-25
Agreed about him having the McJesus assignment. You would hope that it wouldn’t take such dramatic measures to get Miller’s head into it.
Consistency, though, well that’s been the trick for the team writ-large this season??

Perhaps the rumour du jour of an impending ass shipping out of town lit that fire for him.
Maybe EP finally let him ride his Scooter.

Re: Canucks News N Notes 24-25
It shouldn't, should it - but if he needed 10 games off to get his head straight, somethin' ain't right.
Also, for all we know, perfectly valid points. Maybe JTs wife won't left ride scooters?Donnie wrote:Perhaps the rumour du jour of an impending ass shipping out of town lit that fire for him.

But seriously, the media knows about as much as we do about what's going right now with this team. We could make up any number of clickbait rumours and 'insider' trade moves and be just as accurate.
Consistency might be taking shape, but not in the form we want.
Re: Canucks News N Notes 24-25
Since we're on the subject of what the fuck do we know and how and why did he need time off, how do we know the 10 games away had anything to do with hockey.
Maybe his Mother has Leukemia.

Re: Canucks News N Notes 24-25
Yeah, it’s still a mystery. Definitely a closely guarded one. The asking of Miller to waive his no trade makes the most sense, especially with his wife having built a solid business in this city. I really do believe the Millers like it here. I also believe that there’s never been “major” issues between players, is Miller a hard ass on his teammates? Yeah, but that angle just ain’t flying for me.

Re: Canucks News N Notes 24-25
I read on a specific suppsedly national sports site that the Canucks need to hold JT from the lineup for a pending trade. Supposedly the number of approved teams is now 6.
Been busy couple of days so no time to follow all trade talks.
I came here and again based up what I thought were supposedly a strong lead, would see something to add credibility. Man was I wrong again, will I ever learn?
