The way to beat the coilers is in the alley. Why oh why did the balds not pony up on Z. It was such an obvious win to resign the guy, even if the price was on the high side. He earned every penny from Van for being a total beast in the playoffs

No way. Not even a fine. It’s McDavid!
Factoring Wednesday in Minnesota, he's been suspended twice before, this is a pattern.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

That was a solid win against a hot team. No passengers.

Miller proved why he’s so important to the team when he’s ‘Good’ Miller. His ability to match up and shut down McDavid and Draisaitl will go a long way towards post-season success.

Demko was solid. I don’t think he’s in top game shape, but he’s getting there. He needed this win.

Garland and Höglander were excellent tonight at getting under people’s skins.

With suspensions incoming, the rematch will be intriguing - to say the least. Let’s see if they can build off tonight against Buffalo.
Love the Sport. Love the Team.

Hate the League.

If both get 2 games, they miss the rematch. My gut is Myers will get at least 2 games but the league is in a tough spot with McDavid, the oil have Ovie up next at home. McDavid can’t miss that, can he? My gut is, they will weasel out of it with McJesus and only give him a fine.

P.S solid win tonight by the Canucks, Miller proved his worth tonight.

Here’s something no one seems to consider much… first period JTM is owning McD 69% to 31% in the dot, handling both McDive and Leon with only Suter and Garland. At least sawing them off to a draw.

EP with all the scorers should be feasting offensively,. Sorry but he would be eaten alive if his line were matched up. Better think clearly about the returns with whatever moves.

It’s not Myers, it’s Soucy. What happened to this guy?
Its ok to praise Miller and not throw a rock at Peter. This board is very divided on these players. Keep both, keep one or trade both. Im ambivalent. I cheer for the sweater myself.

It's also ok to praise other regimes without throwing rocks at one particular one... over and over and over. How many rocks have you got there?

What's not true about this statement? Lesser match ups, better wingers, still struggling to score. GM thinks he can be a top guy though. Most expected it when the new contract was signed. Still waiting...

Yes, a divided board. As divided as Team Chef vs Team Blob? Even if there was a divide now, nothing could be that over the top again.

We all cheer for the sweater. When we feel it's not being served with certain directions or moves, we each are free to express our opinions. This is the point of this place, right?

Benning was a fucking imbecile. I know you know that. Anyone who supported that fat bag of pus for more than a couple of years is also an imbecile. Hitting on 2/5 top 10 draft picks and making one good trade does not excuse the damage that waterhead did to this team.

Theres clearly an issue on the team..... with the players. Wiebo is clearly trolling, likely Mëds as well. It just seems that its an either or thing with these players with a good chunk of posters. Just because one guy has a good game seems like a trigger for some folks to punt the other guy.

I would like to see both guys stay and succeed as it has proven to be a solid 1/2 centre combo. Need another top end winger and a middle pairing D.

Let it go, man. Do it for your own good. It's bad for your health. This place is just an escape, you got your own self and family to focus on. Move on. That imbecile no longer exists... there are other imbeciles now to throw rocks at now

We all know there is a huge issue with the team. I can't speak for the other posters, but look man, I'm going to call it as I see it. It's the same when the other guy has a bad game or a meh game even. Hell, Myers is constantly getting punted for just being tall out there.

Yes, I would like to see them thrive like they did last year, pre-ASG. I've said many times as much, it would be great if we keep them both and sort whatever this real or made-up shit is. The cap makes it difficult as is it to improve a good but not great team, but this has somehow become a bad team full of problems.

I don't know what the fix is, but something has got to give. Top 6 Centers are crucial to a team's success. I'd rather they sort it out internally and get back to being the stars we know. I just don't believe this is the part of the team to operate on. They're looking to chop off a leg for no other reason than there's pressure and they have no answers. I can't imagine what kind of junk the Rags offered and if any of their garbage would actually make us better in the long-term. I suspect it got shitcanned because it would put us even further back than it is now.

Tonight's game, while not a masterpiece, was very satisfying to watch live. The team was not close to great, but everyone played with their balls hanging out. Miller, Demko, etc. everybody put in a full 60 and battled. But certain aspects like scoring from the top guys continue to be an issue. That's the truth. Anyone here with their own business knows ROI is important.

But even with all of the Oiler fans in attendance, it was clear Canucks fans want both Miller and Pettersson on the team. They don't continually chant names for no fucking reason.

I don't know what's going to happen, but somehow this situation has exacerbated into something absolutely fucking ridiculous and the fans don't want this BS. I talked to a few of them and believe me, they want both centers playing like tonight but scoring again. It's fun to watch a team really compete and take no shit from the fucking Coilers or any other team. The "Let's Go Oilers" chants barely got going and they all went home in a foul mood. Loved it.

I guess we'll see what happens in the morning...

Love the big picture perspective Hank. Not just this post but many posts over the last few days. Solid rants.

I couldn't watch the game; looks like I missed a real doozie. SN highlights barely show the 3rd, so I had to watch the Hockey Day segment on the Myers and McGayvid crosschecks. The panel seems to think both get two games, but that's a good point about the Ovie game coming up. I can see 97 getting a break as his was less brutal than Myers'.

It would be funny if Myers uncrossed Bouchard's eyes with that crosscheck to the face.

You're welcome....freak

Moving either piece out at this stage will almost certainly result in a net loss. They have to find a way to solve this garbage in house...for king and country

McJesus gets away with a lot of shit. Grabbing, holding, cross checking, high sticking. But he also takes a lot of abuse that goes uncalled. The life of a generational superstar.

Great on Garland. Situational awareness at the end. He knew time was running out so he just grabbed on and would not let McJesus get anywhere near the puck. Of course I would be pissed if that happened to us but since the Canucks didn't touch the puck the play could not be called. That's the situational awareness. He wouldn't do that at any other time of the game. And yes, great to see it piss the Oilers off. To be fair to Garland, McJesus was also holding him down and grabbing back so takes two to tangle I guess.

Myers should get 1 game, similar to Soucy last year. McJesus should get 2 as a repeat offender. Just my 2 cents. But I would be fine if they both got 2.

Solid effort last night. They needed that hold on win. They have blown so many lead this year that this one is a great confidence boost.

I'm on board with keeping both JT and Pettersson. They are adults. Lock them in a room to sort it out. If they both truly want to be here, which by all accounts is the story, then they have got to find a way to work this shit out. They will be a better team for the effort. We are a better team when the good JT is on the ice. We are a better team when the Alien is in the lineup. Lets hope this is a start of a beautiful relationship moving forward.

I could live with this I guess.

I really like JT as a player, an asshole and a fuck over the other guys top players, love his intensity, when he's there and focussed that is.

They need to figure this out.

Really I can not believe Management has allowed it to get here.

Really poor job in their part.

...so, in a nutshell what you're saying is we want their relationship to be more like ours and less like yours and Docs.

I guess Hank should go to more games.

Count me in as another who would like to see them work it out.

On another topic, my prediction is:

Myers gets a game
McJesus gets a fine.

I'd really like them to work it out as well, as we won't receive full value in any trade, but if mgmt really asked JT to waive his NTC is that's going to leave a taint on things. It's like you're wife cheating on you then wanting you back; can JT get over it? Probably, it's just business. But it must leave a bad taste in the mouth.
