Suspend him a full season. Ahl too. That's a bullshit hit. Late. Blind side. High elbow. Predatory.

If it was Petey on the ice, I'd want the other fucker killed.
It was the same hit Zed made last year
Rome got 4 games in 2011scf for a hit 1/10th as bad. Playoffs are 2 for 1. So, Rome got 8 reg season games. Xerxes gets 80. Math with a dose of personal bias. Zeds hit was dumb too.
Rome's suspension was mind boggling at the time and they've never matched anything to it as a template in the decade plus since it happened. I don't think you can compare it with anything

Leagues give BJ's cap floor relief as long as the comply "in a reasonable amount of time."
Bush league. So they would have to maybe make a poor deal with a little pain. Just hate this shit.
yup. THey should take the Poolman contract.

A whole season.... lol Jesus h just take the contact out of it for the tea grannies. Its a bad hit but 5- 10 games will suffice.

I like the anger in the games. There should Ave a couple suspensions to come out of that.

Bury Jack Eye in the minors? I'll take him all day every day.
I didn’t see the Grieg/Dach hit (just looked).

Why do you have to even ask? Obviously it wasn’t.

I like the emotion, I like big hits, I like fighting in the game.

I hate blindsided head shots.

Neither of those were incidental contact. They were intentionally sent high towards the head.

Both of those guys weren’t good enough to line up a proper open ice hit so they threw arms and elbows to make up for their inept positioning.

I’m “ok” with stuff like Rome’s hit in 2011 where elbows are tucked, it’s into the body first and any contact with the head is secondary and largely because the puck carrier wasn’t keeping his head up. I think fines and (in appropriate cases) short suspensions are sufficient there if it can be determined that the head contact could have been avoided entirely or if a player is a continual offender.

If you throw the book at what we saw in the Ottawa/Montreal game and get rid of that shit while being less punitive in situations as I mention above, you’ll find that guys who want to be the new Scott Stevens will learn to do that within the rules and you’ll keep the emotion in the game.

Look at Marchand. He was a dirty player. The league started to come down on him and he took that stuff out of his game and actually became an even better player. He’s still a rat, he still provokes, he still hacks and whacks, but you don’t see the slew foots, you don’t see the clipping and low bridges. Obviously playing on the international stage with Marchand and Crosby also was instrumental in his development as well, however he wanted to keep playing and so when pressure was applied by both the league and his teammates/coaches, well as they say, cream rises.

I’m assuming you’re referring to Zadorov’s hit on Raymond in Detroit.

In terms of trying to still make contact after mistiming the hit, yes, exactly the same.

The key difference is that Zadorov kept his arms down. He still reached, but his ands never came up and were directed towards Raymond’s midsection. Z’s shoulder was what contacted Raymond’s head and that was purely because of a difference in height. Still a bad decision on Zadorov’s part. But there absolutely no targeting the head there. Suspension? Yes. Head contact because of a bad decision after missing the hit.

Also consider that Xhekaj is 4 inches taller than Stutzle, so throwing his arm up like that is more obviously going to be a higher danger play.

Greig’s was similar to Z’s but he reached up rather than down and in, like Z’s I think a lesser suspension (unless he’s a repeat offender with history).

Video of McDink spazzing out on teammates after a loss in the finals last year.

Watch as said teammates ignore his childish temper tantrum, as if they've seen it before.

Not exactly "a leader of men", this chap.

Sounded like he was on the verge of tears. Poor baby.

Question is whether that happened after game 2 or game 3?

Judging by the score in game 3, I guess the tantrum wasn't f***ing good enough.

Wow what a shocking display of pathetic. If I was playing against him I'd rag on him nonstop. He's barely hanging onto his sanity

He's like Heston at the end of POTA's

Hey wait a minute....didn't he squeel like that in a bank or something???

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

The Swayman issue is personal. Word coming out the Sweeny and the Bruins were brutal and nasty in arbitration a year ago.

Swayman has no respect for them because they showed no respect to him.
