Glad everyone is coming around on this Necas thing! Hronek is a very valuable asset and for a team with more cap space would be a great add and a top pairing RHD.

Necas is fast as fuck but does need guys to get him the puck, we just happen to have a guy with that skillset that's been looking for a consistent linemate for a while now.

Carolina knows exactly where we want to put Necas. So he is potentially valuable to us! They're playing that card looking for more assets. They want Hronek, they need to solidify the right side. We're playing that!

What it will likely come down to are what other options are out there? Are there more winger options to trade a RHD for or vice versa? Based on history our RHD is a much more valuable chip.

Didn't see this mentioned but we have some coaching changes as well.

Mike Yeo out, Yogi Svejkovsky in.

Don't know much about Yogi, but we clearly came to a fork in the road and took it!

Yogi has been a skills coach, this move was a promotion.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

The problem with both Necas and Hronek is that they are not signed. Caroline isn't going to trade for him without knowing that they can sign him. And if they can sign him then there is no reason why the Canucks can't. But if Hronek wants to go to arbitration then FA to get his big payday that's what will happen.

Doc, I can't remember, but if he gets an arbitration award that we accept crewe prohibited from trading him then? If so, and if we can't sign him before the decision then I think we need to punt him.
The only HW the Canucks need

We could trade him after an arbitration award, but his value would take a big hit.

He'd be on a one year deal and a pending UFA after.

It's after matching an offer sheet that you can't trade a player for a year.

Nikita was quoted the other day as saying he can't go back to the Motherland until VP is dead and gone or he'd be in Siberia the day after.

He also said he and his entire family love our City and also intimated much more so than Cowtown.

There is a deal to be made here imesho.

He clearly loves the stinky blue whale and the fans of the stinky blue whale love him back.

I believe JR will resign Zadorov for a team friendly deal that goes 5-6-7 years. He was a great 4-5 defenseman for us. Make it happen Cap'n

...so the '24 - '25 cap increase is offset by OEL's buyout next season as a part of that scenario BoS?

We get one more year of Poolmans LTIR which essentially offsets OELs buyout hit next season.

The 25/26 season OELs buyout hit is much more and we don’t get Poolman’s relief anymore either. However, the hope is with Arizona gone the cap will increase much more substantially for that season enabling a bit of flexibility.

So are you saying you're in the camp to trade Hronek for Necas or to keep Hronek?

I don't think Petey is a guy that will be getting Necas the puck (I'm assuming that's who you mean).....Pettersson doesn't have the first step speed or strength on the puck to create space.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

Shocking take.

The Scandanavian hater strikes yet again.

Aha...got it....thx AP.

Completely erased Poolperson from my brain.

Not even certain I've ever seen him play hockey.

Some projections I have seen reflect a 92 million + cap the following season so makes sense.
