The latest I have heard from the Höglander camp is that he ... can potentially can win a spot over Loui Eriksson with a strong performance at training camp.

I hope to Christ he can. Playing better than Loui is not the particular bar I would choose for a 2nd liner to try to beat.

I hope coach Green wont be tempted this year to line Louis up with Bo when there's an injury or if he thinks a shake-up is needed. He will.

I wonder if he's left off due to his contract status - i.e., likely to be in North America, even if its on the AHL squad. Whereas perhaps Lias Anderson is committed to playing the entire season in Sweden?

Despite Podkolzin struggles, Rotenberg can still can see a player with huge NHL potential, “100%, I see the potential. He does a lot of things right, he is just not scoring.”

Nope. This team was announced on Monday. These are th eguys who are going. Höglander did not make the cut.
He's pretty decent for his age, but this is not a J20 team, this is the national team. I would say that he is not even close to making the cut, even though they have only picked players playing in Sweden this time, due to travel restrictions, etc. Had all players in the KHL and the Swiss league also been available, he would be even further away from a shot.
