Nah, yeah I think Toronto was trying to deal that little money hungry shit William Nylander for one of Hamilton or Pesce to no avail. The Brown Wizard wrote: ↑Wed May 13, 2020 8:18 amNot if it was Boeser on offerDoyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Wed May 13, 2020 8:07 amCarolina roars with laughter and hangs up the phone.SKYO wrote: ↑Tue May 12, 2020 11:20 pmBrett PesceRichardstroker69 wrote: ↑Tue May 12, 2020 3:53 pmUnless he can score a young top 4 potential rhd.
I'd just use Tryamkin as a right side dman, his preferred side, he'd compliment QH well, as he's a defensive dman with hands the size of two bricks that hit just as hard, he's not a scrapper per se, but if hands get thrown his MASS hurts like a motherfucker to whomever is trying to take on Andre the Giant.

I agree but the team needs another top 4 dman even with Trykin in the lineup. In my mind he replaces Stetcher but we still need to replace Tanev.SKYO wrote: ↑Wed May 13, 2020 8:35 amNah, yeah I think Toronto was trying to deal that little money hungry shit William Nylander for one of Hamilton or Pesce to no avail.

I'd just let Rafferty take the top 6 dman role, roll the dice he can be a decent QB after Quinn...it's a game of dice and Raff has broken Utica records/ awesome AHL rookie dman scoring points, he'd fill Stechers' shoes no prob. The Brown Wizard wrote: ↑Wed May 13, 2020 8:53 amI agree but the team needs another top 4 dman even with Trykin in the lineup. Edler-Rafferty(Raff get way less minutes obviously)
Hughes-Tryamkin (The Giant protecting our franchise)

That top 4 will give up waaaaay too many goals against bro. We need serious help in our own end far more than more offense.

I admit I've not been reading everything lately. When did the Canucks decide they weren't going to negotiate a new contract with Tanev?

We gave up way too many goals as is, stetcher and Tanev are bottom pairing quality at this point. We can get more out of a guy like Luke Schenn paired with Hughes than we can Tanev. Hughes can carry any dman (as long as they can win a puck battle) and they can play a top 4 role. Edler and Myers looked decent earlier but as edlers minutes climbed he started to slow down. Ideally tyramkin comes in plays the left side and pushes edler down to 3rd pairing minutes by the end of the year to keep him fresh. Tyramkin was also a beast on the pk so that will help out a lot. With Tanev and stetcher gone there are a lot of rhd options in free agency, a guy like hamonic could be a good partner for Hughes. The Brown Wizard wrote: ↑Wed May 13, 2020 9:16 am That top 4 will give up waaaaay too many goals against bro. LMAO Tanev is still the best RH D man on this team. Bottom pairing caliber my ass. Luke Schenn is barely an NHL player.Richardstroker69 wrote: ↑Wed May 13, 2020 9:42 amWe gave up way too many goals as is, stetcher and Tanev are bottom pairing quality at this point. Tanev has played an entire season exactly once in his career, this one and it isnt over yet.
I would love to hang onto him but he wants his big payday and honestly he isnt worth it. If he comes in at 4 then its a totally different story but hes likely looking for Myers cash.

I’d move on from Tanev at much over 5. He’s a better player than Myers, but he isn’t getting any younger. Just because they overpaid Myers doesn’t mean they need to do the same with a declining Tanev.

Tanev is one of our best situational defensemen as well, PK, late game protecting leads, shot blocking. I know he is getting older, and injury prone - but a replacement D with his skillset would at least cost us 5mil/year or more at 30 years old - and 6mil+/year under 30. You take him out of the lineup, and we bleed goals against. There is no one in our farm/system that can replace him at this point. If we are trying to make the playoffs this year or next, we simply need Tanev to re-up.
