There are still phone books?!
Lol, that's not how it works!Mëds wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 9:02 pm Based on the projected list of protected Canucks, either of our two current goaltenders would probably be the best players available from Vancouver.
If the rules are the same as the Vegas expansion then, with the current roster, I think the Canucks would be best served protecting 8 skaters and a goalie.
Horvat
Boeser
Miller
Pettersson
Toffoli
Virtanen
Gaudette
Myers
Markstrom or Demko
Hughes is exempt, Edler and Pearson will be UFA, as will a few others.
Stecher is no big loss.
I'd hate to lose MacEwan, but c'est la vie.
If Markstrom is exposed it's an almost sure thing they would take him, providing next season is a continuation of his last 18 months of play.
If Demko is exposed the loss is felt more in the fact that we would be losing a valuable trade chip or future starter for nothing.
Well a lot can change in a year, so Juolevi could be very desirable at that point.Mëds wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 9:08 pmWell if you're talking league-wide, obviously. However, considering the players on the existing roster who will still be under contract, or RFA, at the end of next year.....
Loui Eriksson
Micaheal Ferland
Sven Baertschi
Antoine Roussel
Jay Beagle
Olli Juolevi
Brogan Rafferty
Josh Teves
Thatcher Demko
Who are you taking over Demko there? The only player that one could conceivably see being taken would be Roussel if he regains his form as prior to this season's return from injury has been a very useful 3rd line forward.
Just curious to see which way the sky is falling today in your world.SKYO wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 9:27 pmDo you have anything insightful to add?? or just being a fucking troll lol.Madcombinepilot wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 9:00 am Just the other day Skyo solved his own problems (in his mind) with the "Let Marky, Leivo and Tanev" go comment in the 'compliance' thread, and here he is, now making more drama for himself..
Yeah. I'm not sure if I read it wrong or just remembered wrong, but for some reason I thought it was 6F 3D 1G or 8S and 1G.Strangelove wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 1:20 pmLol, that's not how it works!Mëds wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 9:02 pm Based on the projected list of protected Canucks, either of our two current goaltenders would probably be the best players available from Vancouver.

If you protect 7 forwards, you also get to protect 3 defencemen.
Only teams that want to protect 4 dmen go the '8 skaters' route, protecting 4 forwards and 4 dmen.
It IS 6F 3D 1G or 8S and 1G.
Mëds' head is in the clouds so he deserves a pass.Strangelove wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 9:49 pmIt IS 6F 3D 1G or 8S and 1G.
But common sense tells us that 8S and 1G will be 4 dee + 4 forwards + 1 goalie.
Not 7 forwards + 1 dee, lol...
LOL No. It's not. It is 7F 3D 1G or 8S and 1G.Strangelove wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 9:49 pmIt IS 6F 3D 1G or 8S and 1G.

Ekblad, Connolly? When NHL.com’s Nick Cotsonika asked Dale Tallon how the Florida GM felt leaving the BB&T Centre after Sunday’s 3–0 loss to Calgary, Tallon replied, “I was pissed,” adding the Panthers haven’t been the same since a 4–0 defeat in Montreal on Feb. 1. (They are 5-9-2 since.) If Tallon is upset, you can only imagine how owner Vinny Viola feels. Viola dropped more than $100 million — from Sergei Bobrovsky to Joel Quenneville to Anton Stralman, etc. — and while attendance figures have increased a bit, it is still under 14,000 per game. The Panthers are in danger of missing the playoffs for the fourth straight season, and the question being asked is, “What are the consequences?” The are many potential changes on and off the ice, but what has other GMs buzzing is a belief the Panthers will strongly consider breaking up their core because the mix hasn’t worked. Was the Vincent Trocheck deal just the tip of the iceberg?
