Fuuuck not a 1st. Fuck.

Benning needs to quit making trades

I suppose he sees the rebuild complete. Its the inly reason you sell off a 1st rounder
Plus our third in 2019

The question is will Benning get a first rounder back from another trade?

TRADE: The Lightning have traded forward J.T. Miller to Vancouver for a conditional first-round pick in 2020, a third-round selection in 2019 and goaltender Marek Mazanec. Should the Canucks not make the playoffs in 2019-20, the first-round selection will move to the 2021 draft.

Thats hit or miss but the 1st is an expensive fucking price to pay. Miller is 26... Looks like this likely will be the last high pick for a while. Miller is decent but not spectacular.

JT Miller is a very good pick up, but this is a huge price. Jimbo overpays in picks again like he does every single time. The guy can draft but his trades are terrible. TBay has massive cap issues and get a 1st out of it? Come on Jimbo, play some damn poker!

He needs some help, can’t keep giving up assets like this.

If we were going to spend a 1st on something, I would have expected it to be on D.... Seems high, and the "Blobby 3rd" was thrown in - so I guess we'll see.

Still does not address the issues on D.

Miller is a good pick up, a 60 point guy so a 2nd line player for sure. But they still have the same freaking d as last year. Barrie not coming here now.

Ok now I’m unhappy. A 3rd and a conditional 1st?

Why not take Marleau for what the Canes got.

He’d better be getting that first back somewhere.

13 goals on that stacked team isnt really inspiring us with his offensive abilities. Looks like Sutter the 2nd.

This is yet another massive overpayment by JB - and just when I was getting to like him.

A 3rd and a first - how the hell does JB manage to get bent over the barrel by a cap strapped team. Perhaps he heard the term "weaponized capspace" and understood it to mean the inverse.
