IF true, then Tryamkin is coming back in 2020, I see why Zaitsev is a target - Russian facts.
Sure this is happening
As opposed to Edler re-signing?
If Elmer values his job he will stay the fuck away from
Zaitsev. There’s no indication Tryamkin will come back. I’d rather see them trade his rights.
His agent was on 650, saying he was coming back.... I’d say that’s a pretty good indication.
Did he? Or did his agent say they were talking with the Canucks and then the local media jumped all over it. I have yet to see any comments written anywhere that is as direct to what you wrote.

Listen to his agents interview on 650, he full on says when he returns to the nhl.

It was a fluff piece for Doc and his fellow hamburger flippers.
“I don’t care what you and some other poster were talking about”

Much can happen between now and July 1st.
The objective here is to improve the defence for next year and beyond. If this means moving on from Edler, so be it, but I don’t believe anything until it’s official.
This far away from free agency seems like this could just be an organizational nudge through the media (i.e.)"hey alex, you're not getting that 3rd year or more. At least not nmc protected."
And good on management. If this guy loves it here so much so as to refuse a trade last season as well as wanting term as a 30+ y/o player as well as nmc protection in the midst of league expansion...well he can go pound sand elsewhere. Sounds like its all take and no give. I think Jimbo's calling a bluff. Let's see if he read the cards right.

A subterfuge you say? Would a pro sports team actually do that? There's no doubt that could be the case. Also; this is trickling down
to other NHL cities which could, in effect, alter the playing field.
She's up on the stage but that fat beeetch aint sung yet.

I just posted this on another thread. Dan Murphy is reporting that the stumbling block with Edler is term, not cap or trade protection. The Canucks are prepared to offer a NTC, just not a NMC. Don’t know how far apart the sides are in term.
