Apparently the three finalists were leaked a half-hour before most of us saw it on TV.
Not rigged, they do the actually draft before the show is aired.
But pretty damn shoddy to show that board/graphic to some.
Damn, if I had seen it I could have made an avatar bet on who the three would be.
Apparently these were tweeted before we saw the result on TV:

Bettman is smiling . All 3 lottery teams are Eastern time zone.
Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver
LOL so happy the LA Kings and Colorado Avalanche didn't win the top 2 spots ahahahah1. New Jersey Devils
2. New York Rangers
3. Chicago Blackhawks
4. Colorado Avalanche (from the Ottawa Senators)
5. Los Angeles Kings
6. Detroit Red Wings
7. Buffalo Sabres
8. Edmonton Oilers
9. Anaheim Ducks
10. Vancouver Canucks
11. Philadelphia Flyers
12. Minnesota Wild
13. Florida Panthers
14. Arizona Coyotes
15. Montreal Canadiens
Avs would have been fuckin' killer with MacK and Hughes/Kakko.
LA Kings just won two cups this decade.
If the Canucks didn't win, I'm sure as hell happy Colorado and LA didn't win either aha AND they both had the best odds in the lotto.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Fuck the Avs. They won two cups not too long before LA won their two.
No offence SKYO but why the fuck do you want the Avs to be a power house? They have a good young team with loads of prospects and they haven’t even seen Makar yet. Holy hell man

Not even that angry, I’d rather see them win the lottery next year and get Lafreniere or Byfield

Not angry? You predicted the Canucks to be leaders in the Jack Hughes race.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2019 8:19 pm Not even that angry, I’d rather see them win the lottery next year and get Lafreniere or Byfield

After some time to digest, I'm glad NJ ended up with Hughes. Better than any of the other teams in front of us getting him.

I figured they’d be bottom five? I couldn’t predict six other teams completely imploding like they did.RoyalDude wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2019 8:26 pmNot angry? I’d rather get a top 2 pick next year

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver
It’s all good, what I expected and the winners aren’t in our division. I’m not a fan of a market like Jersey getting Hugh end talent considering nobody there really seems to care, but that’s the NHL’s issue not mine.
As for the pick, again top 10 is what I wanted. Yes we are 10th, but at least we are in the mix. My guess to how it sits right now, subject to change with the CHL playoffs and U18s of course:
1) NJ - Hughes - no brainer, they need a centre.
2) NYR - Kakko - again, no brainer.
3) CHI - Turcotte - this one is tough - lots of D prospects, not much at centre so they take the local boy
4) COL - Cozens - Again good D prospects assuming Timmons is healthy, so they go with a much needed centre
5) LA - Byram - tough one, they could go Dach but I think they will be gun shy on big centres given Vilardi last year. Need D
6) DET - Podkolzin - wanted Byram, but get a guy who falls again for the second year in a row
7) BUFF - Dach - Eichel is a centre, Reinhart plays wing, Mittelstadt might soon too. They go with the big centre
8) EDM - Krebs - who knows what this tire fire of a team will do. I think they grab the local kid with tons of skill and character
9) ANA - Broberg - gut feel on this one. Ducks used to love drafting D but have almost none in the pipeline. It’s either Broberg or Soderstrom and I went with the big, athletic guy even if I’m personally not a fan - he’s a guy old GMs like Murray seem to love
Leaves the Nucks with either Zegras, Boldy or Soderstrom. I’m good with any of them, though it’s a couple of years before they will all be ready for prime time.
As for trading the pick - I don’t see Jimbo moving up, it’s just too expensive. I could see him trading a couple of Tanev, Hutton, Sutter, etc for some 2nds, 3rds or 4ths, but unless Jimbo wants to trade Tanev for a 2nd and then flip both is 2nds for a late 1st I doubt much will happen at the top end of the draft.
We will get a very good player - stay the course, keep drafting, and hopefully trade some of the dead wood for extra picks.

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver
Barring something shocking I expect we will be back in the lottery next year - would love to be wrong but I don’t think we are there yet. Next year’s draft looks very strong, so that’s not a bad thing.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2019 8:28 pmI figured they’d be bottom five? I can’t see Jersey or Buffalo being this bad again, but LA, Detroit, Ottawa, are all in on the rebuild and I have no idea what Edmonton or Anaheim will do, they are both a mess. It will be really tough to be that bad so I expect the Nucks to be around the top 10 again next year.

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver
40th is an interesting spot - should be some good talent left. Lassi Thomson, Korczak, Honka as RHD. Grewe, Hoglander, Foote, Poulin as wingers. If we go C or W in the 1st I expect Jimbo will focus on D after that.Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2019 8:52 pm Canucks draft positions:

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver
I definitely think they need to change the draft lottery. Said it for years.
I like some of Burke's thoughts on it.
If you win the lottery you can't pick 1st overall again for 3-5 years.
You also can't pick in the top-3 the following season.
Only the bottom 10 teams should have a shot at the top-3.
