Can you imagine having both Boeser and Pettersson on the power play, Boeser on the left and Pettersson on the right for one timers?

You'll still need to get rid of Edler, who probably won't pass to either of them!

I could see Dahlin or Boqvist playing that role nicely.

Juolevi will be a healthy scratch for the second game in a row.

Pettersson will be 20 in Nov. thus! I can realistically see him make the team...as I believe the Sedins started at 20 as well.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

That is worriesome.

Hopefully it is more about him working on different aspects of his game.

Brockstar is getting a lot of much deserved press with his play this season and @ the all-star game, but it seems like Reid Boucher is quietly have a nice season on the farm as well. He scored 3 goals @ the AHL all-star game and has put up a whopping 22G/40pts in 36 games for Utica thus far.

Hopefully some tuff luv by being in Utica most of the season will be good for Boucher and maybe he comes to camp dedicated like Jake next year. Maybe he gets another look up here if we get into another rash of injuries.

I don't think anyone would complain about that.

My thoughts on Asplund? Why? Haven't thought much of him.

I mean, he is an assistant captain on one of the better teams, which is impressive at age 20, and he has played in two WJC tournaments, which also shows he is a high end talent. Still. He is no Elias Pettersson, if you know what I mean.

A classic two-way centre. Good at what he does. Having earned a spot on a SHL team, and as assistant captain to boot, and been drafted by New Jersey in the second round 2016, he is clearly a good hockey player, but he does not have the same star quality or wow factor as Elias.

He is two inches shorter than Pettersson, but slightly heavier. 26 points (7G+19A) in 40 games so far this season, which is not bad, but Elias has 41 points (16G+25A) in 33 games...

I would not be surprised if Asplund does reach the NHL and establishes himself there, but if you compare to Pettersson - I expect Pettersson to be a first line player in the NHL and a household name. Perhaps as big as Peter Forsberg.

So you had better start learning to spell his name!

Boucher, like Jake needs to learn to work harder on his defensive game... No coasting ! He looked terrific in the AHL all star game but this doesn't necessarily translate to success in the NHL..

Boucher needs to skate faster, shoot quicker and backcheck harder to stick in the NHL.

He is a little slower on skating, and needs to work harder on it.

His shot, while heavy and accurate, is too slow for the show. His release is good enough for the AHL where you have that extra 1/2 second, but in the NHL, defenders always seem to get a stick on it.

Backchecking, well, that's related to point number 1, his skating. Needs to get quicker on his feet, and work harder.

Without fixing 2 out of those 3 things, Boucher is destined to remain an all star in Utica.
The 'Chain of Command' is the chain I am going to beat you with until you understand I am in charge.

^^^^You just described another AHL'er - Dylan Strome. 3rd overall pick in the 2015 draft. Boeser - 23rd overall pick 2015 draft. Adam Gaudette 5th round pick 2015 draft. Arizona has two bums from the 2015 draft - don't forget Lawson Crouse

Yup. Bang on. I was rooting for him and still could be proven wrong (i would welcome tgat) but Boucher's opportunity to make and stay in the show was this year. He blew it at training camp/preseason and now he is destined to be a career ahl'er.
Unfortunately, I think Goldy is another one.
