Besides a trade the team can try to replace DD's skillset from within with Gaunce and Virtanen.
All-in-all a 3rd rounder for Dorsett was a shrewd move back in 2014, the modern hybrid knuckledragger if you will, can scrap, was fast, threw hits, 100% energy, can penalty kill with a vengeance (he and Sutter formed a solid PK duo under TG) and even pop in a few goals.
lol I want to see Gaunce and Virtanen play but they do not replace DDs toughness. Wake up Skymonster
Yes, hard to find a guy who replaces all that Dorsett brought to the table... and on such a great contract!
Definitely feel for the guy, especially after coming back from injury and playing so well. I'm sure it's particularly tough to give up the game when you have to leave playing some of the best hockey of your career.
That said, having guaranteed salary for the remainder of his contract plus a career ending disability benefit of another $1,000,000 (assuming the injury was caused by his play) must soften the blow a little.
Invincibility lies in oneself.
Vincibility lies in the enemy.

Bubbles labels him great because he brought in Noonan, Ciccone and Strudwick. Stalwarts

Ok ok, Keenan blew up the core basically, his good move was Linden for Bert/Cabe/3rd(ruutu).
Which in time got us the WCE, and Burke used Cabe to nab the Sedins.
But Keenster and Messier took this franchise as a heist and fucked it all up.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.
The Linden to the Islanders trade was a very good trade. It also helped Nonis (Bertuzzi to Florida) in getting Luongo from Florida (Keenan) was the Florida GM who handed Nonis - Luongo on a silver platter to the Canucks. Bertuzzi's game wasn't what it used to be when he landed in Florida. Keenan was a little too obsessed with Bertuzzi.
Lots of trading history with the Panthers - McCabe helped us get the Sedins. Bure helped us getting Jovanovski, Bertuzzi helped us in getting Luongo
Gillis got us Booth and Ballard

Well Booth loves to "shoot", so do I.
But he needs "bait" to get the job done.
I believe the 2000 1st pick Burke got back from Florida in the Bure trade a year prior was packaged with McCabe in landing the Sedins
