Bumped??? Someone posts here almost daily.
You know most are fine with the leaves making the playoffs, if they do. Just to ensure a lowering of their draft pick, and to see them get burned first round.
Of course most are also fine if they fail to make the playoffs. Because, well, they suck.
Bottom line I guess is that most don't really care. This thread is all about you Tuna.

The time to hope for the leaves getting a crappy pick was the past 2 years. Now it doesn't matter. Crappy draft and they struck gold the past two years.Hockey Widow wrote:Bumped??? Someone posts here almost daily.

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread
See folks, no need to ever worry....http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2637 ... -be-cursed
The Hillman Hex.
“Yes, it’s still there,” said Larry Hillman on Friday. “It seems to have worked.”
Along with Jimmy Pappin, Hillman was one of the unsung heroes of that golden hockey spring in Toronto in 1967. He and defence partner Marcel Pronovost were a key reason why the leaves were able to upset the powerful Chicago Blackhawks in the first round and then knock off the Habs for the Cup. During 12 post-season games, that tandem was only on the ice for one even-strength goal.
After that season, (Hillman) hoped to parlay that into an increase on his $15,000 salary. In his own mind, he set a bottom line of $20,000. Hillman knew others were making a lot more, and knew Bobby Baun, who hadn’t played much in the ’67 final, had signed with the expansion Oakland outfit for $35,000 a season.
GM Punch Imlach, however, offered $19,000. Captain George Armstrong suggested that he sign for that amount and other players would chip in $100 each. But Hillman stood fast on principle, even after Imlach increased his offer to $19,500.
That offer, however, also came with the promise to reduce Hillman’s salary by $100 for every day he didn’t sign. Imlach even called up Al Arbour and Duane Rupp from the minors to put extra pressure on the stubborn blueliner. For 24 days the stalemate went on, costing Hillman $2,400 before he agreed to re-join the team.
It was a frustrating, humbling experience. He played 55 games for the leaves that season before moving on to the Minnesota North Stars the next summer, but not before he laid down the Hillman Hex, vowing the team wouldn’t win another Cup after the way they’d treated him.
“I’ve left it on because they didn’t pay me the $2,400, with interest,” he said. “It would have been a lot cheaper to pay that than signing all those million-dollar players.”

LOL. You can tell things are going well in 2017 when old articles from the 60's are put on here.
HUGE win over Boston. The leaves have learned to protect a lead. The Boyle trade has been massive for them. Best young team in the entire NHL.
Matthews/Marner/Nylander are ridiculous.

Actually the article was from last year.BigTuna wrote: LOL. You can tell things are going well in 2017 when old articles from the 60's are put on here.
“Yes, the hex is still there,” said Hillman.
Lol Leaves luck out to win the Matthews lottery but still manage to botch the long-term rebuild.
Oh you know it's true Bluefin!
Columbus and Edmonton are both younger+better than your Leaves in the here+now.BigTuna wrote:Best young team in the entire NHL.
Buffalo and Winnipeg are both younger than your Leaves right now.
(and will soon be better than your Leaves)
Tampa (the team that will knock your Leaves out of a playoff spot?) is younger than your Leaves.
Hell, even the Rangers are younger than your Leaves...

Your Leaves should be middle of the pack age-wise next year and the league will have your kids figured out.

Oh yes, the wonderful futures of Winnipeg and Buffalo that never arrive. I doubt you'd be this patient with the leaves in regards to constant underachieving seasons.
Winnipeg and Buffalo have less cap money going forward than the leaves. Oh my god they must be screwed, right? Eichel will leave in 2 years. he's going to get 15 million!

Another HUGE victory. And over an elite team. They have passed the Bruins. The future is so bright I'm blinded!

But you forgot to add on the $5M Leaves rookie bonus money carried over from this season.
Also forgot that is the total for only 17 Leaves players (19 players in the case of the Jets for eg)
Too many variables at this point to talk about the 2018-19 season... you schmuck!
