Hi! My name is Calgary Flame and I have Shitty Goaltending Disease. And even though a cure is easily at hand, I refuse the help because I love the misery of living with Shitty Goaltending Disease.

How is Brian Elliott and Freddy Andersen the same? Elliott has an .896 save %. Clearly he had his numbers inflated from Hitchcock's defensive system.

Martin lost a few "more" brain cells in Boston.
Stecher probably regrets not having a go at him.
If he could have reached high enough, he would have kicked the crap out of him too.
Everybody does now.

Oh? good. Will explain it there why a half dozen or so NHL teams put up with shitty goaltending all the time when apparently according to Tuna it's the easiest position to acquire quality in

Who cares ? It's a fuck of a lot harder to find high end forwards than a decent goalie

These teams make the wrong choices. Brian Elliott looked great in ST.Louis. It is apparent the very low amount of shots and low amount of high quality shots aided in inflating his numbers.

Goaltending is not hard to find. The price for goalies in a trade is lower than for any other positions. I have given you examples of teams adding backups for cheap and having great success. You'll always have teams with crappy goaltending. It does not mean it's the hardest position to fix.

Forwards are the easiest though, right?

Yeah, K. The Flames haven't had a proper no. 1 since Kiprusoff. When did he retire? "Just that easy folks!" Shell Bussy

Small sample size, look at his entire NHL history.

He hasn't ever really been a number one...

Well 2 seasons ago you could say he was on that kind of pace... but he dropped the ball in late January.

You can't really say anything for sure about Andersen until at least the end of this season.

He will likely drop the ball again soon IMESHO.
UPDATE: Andersen drops the ball in late January, right on schedule, 3 goals on 8 shots, yanked...

(and sv% is .919 you lying bastard!)
I noticed you didn't mention Andersen last week when he had two shutouts and was one of the NHL"s 3 stars of the week. Why was that?
:mex:

Tonight Andersen let in another 5 goals... season sv% .917 now.

4 days after you said .922.

SUCKS TO BE YOU!!!

GET HIM HOCKEY GODS!!... GET HIM!!!
Last night Andersen let in another 5 goals... season sv% .916 now. :mex:

The Flames went out and got the wrong guy. Since when is it proof if a team has bad goaltending it means it's hard to find a good goalie? You obviously need to trade/sign for the right guy. When the Flames had to find a goalie back in 03', they had multiple choices. They picked the right guy in Kipprusoff and it was a steal.
There has never been this many quality goalies in the history of the NHL. And as a result, they can be had for cheap on the trade market.
What #1 centres are traded?

So did the Leaves.

At least the Flames weren't stupid enough to immediately give him $25M though.

Yup, and yet the Leaves gave up a 1st + 2nd for the unproven-as-number-one Andersen :mex:

... and then doubled down by giving him $25M over 5 years!

I was worried the Leaves might get a great goalie on the cheap come Expansion Draft.

When they made that trade for Andersen and committed all that money to him

... I was SO relieved!

Leaves always manage to screw themselves over, must be cursed or something...

Matthews - 23 goals 19 assists
Horvat - 15 goals 18 assists

SUCH a significant difference in the quality of these two up and coming young centres here! Wowza!

Canucks Prospect "CENTRE" - Adam Gaudette, drafted in 2015 (the McDavid/Eichel draft) is 7th in NCAA scoring with 17 goals, 24 assists in 26 games. 6'-1" 190lbs

Scouts say he has been the best Collegiate player since the beginning of December, scoring at an INSANE pace! Craig Button was drooling over him last week saying he will be in his next Top 50 Prospects list. Can't wait to see him Boeser and Virtanen in the line-up along with Juolevi, Brisebios and Demko, along with Lockwood, Cassels and Labate, hey Tuna?

Nevermind that, I just want to see the leaves make the playoffs just so Tuna can see first hand the legendary Playoff choker - Andersson do what he does best - choke.

Jesus Dude you are embarrassing yourself. Horvat is turning 22 and while I love the guy he is not comparable to Mathews: The guy is a 19 year old rookie for fuck sakes.
