Wonder if the Islanders wish they had traded Hamonic now. He's done for the season!

What began as discomfort for Steven Stamkos suddenly morphed into something much more serious on Saturday.
The Tampa Bay Lightning captain will undergo vascular surgery on Monday to treat a blood clot found in his right arm, general manager Steve Yzerman announced.
Stamkos, 26, is expected to make a full recovery but will miss the next one to three months of action, raising the spectre he has played his last game in a Lightning uniform.

I don't think Stammer was willing to waive his NTC.Hockey Widow wrote: Wonder if Tampa wishes they had traded Stamkos at the TDD now that he is done for the season.

I'm thinking Stamkos will not play another game for the Bolts, just a hunch
I tuned in for a moment to the Panthers/Canadians game, in Florida and I don't know what they announced their attendance at but I doubt if there was 7 thousand. The whole lower seat section was 2 thirds empty.
That would be a playoff team.
Point ? :Two or three teams should relocate before considering 31 or 32 teams.

Not that we can completely trust reported attendance figures but...micky107 wrote: I tuned in for a moment to the Panthers/Canadians game, in Florida and I don't know what they announced their attendance at but I doubt if there was 7 thousand. The whole lower seat section was 2 thirds empty.

http://espn.go.com/nhl/attendance
... "officially" attendance is up 4000-per in Florida this year (89.8% capacity).
Playoff games will likely be sellouts... "officially".

Yes, amazing how official stats contradict what cameras show/must have been a big hotdog, beer run.Strangelove wrote:Not that we can completely trust reported attendance figures but...micky107 wrote: I tuned in for a moment to the Panthers/Canadians game, in Florida and I don't know what they announced their attendance at but I doubt if there was 7 thousand. Vegas is going to be interesting.
They got their 15,000+ sold but I'm gonna bet,(ha ha, no pun intended), that the percentage of Joe Blow local residents buying tickets, in comparison to other cities, is way low and that travel agencies and casinos bought up blocks and blocks of tickets for promotions and such.
Guess we'll see in about 2 years, or when the novelty wares off, how that goes...

Your right, it is a bold statement and I should explain my gut feeling better;Blob Mckenzie wrote:Do you reside in Abbotsford?micky107 wrote:Just a gut feelingBlob Mckenzie wrote:Really sticking your neck out with a bold statement like that .micky107 wrote:I'm thinking Stamkos will not play another game for the Bolts, just a hunch

It's been a while but that horrific broken leg really shook him up, scared the shit out of him.
I remember the interviews. I believe it changed his outlook on the game.
Every guy handles big time injuries different and I think even at his still young age, he is thinking about his own personal window.
I don't think he likes the idea of staying long term with Tampa and I don't think he would want to wait for TO to become relevant.
So if I'm going to be brazen and make bold statements, I owe a guess.
I'll say the Ducks. With just a little cap work, they could do it...
