Don't want our sister team to beat us to the cup, Damn it!Island Nucklehead wrote: ↑Thu Aug 02, 2018 5:32 pmFairly big pile of MEH.
If Skinner re-ups in Buffalo (he's UFA next summer), it's great value for the Sabres.
I think I got grounded for saying the same thing in 1971.
Ouch.

Senators sign Stone to a one-year, $7.35M contract. He's a UFA next summer, and cannot negotiate an extension until January 1. Sens could lose Karlsson, Duchene and Stone next July 1, and have no 1st round pick (Colorado). What a mess.
Sticking with the Sens, an arbitrator awarded Codi Ceci $4.3M.

Vegas gives William Karlsson $5.25 for one season.
Slightly better than the one million he received this past season.

Alexander Barkov got caught speeding in Finland, 105 kmh on a 60 kmh road.
Now, the Finns base their speeding fines on income, and there is no ceiling, so the poor sod got fined USD 54,000.
That's what I call a speeding ticket!
This beats Teemu Selänne's USD 40,000 speeding ticket in 2002, but the record is held by a Nokia Executive who was fined USD 103,000 for going 45 kmh on his motorcycle in a 30 kmh zone near a school.
The Finnish system is simple. They divide your yearly income with 365. Then divide that amount with two. This is a reasonable estimate of your spending money. Then the severity of the infraction is calculated as a number of days. For speeding, they give you roughly one days income loss per kmh over the speed limit. So, severity of infraction times spending money. This means the blow should feel roughly the same regardless of whether you're rich or poor.

I like the idea in principle, but it doesn’t address the biggest problem here which is the spoiled kids who get bought Lambos by their folks and rip around streets at 150+. They may not work and have any income. Unless you can fine based on Daddy’s wealth instead of income their is no incentive to slow down. Now take away the car and sell it in a public auction might do the trick.

How many dangerous situations are created when someone wants to outrun that fine then? Screw it...make it like montana used to be on highways, max speed was "reasonable and prudent" on the posted signs

Flames buyout Bubbles good buddy - Troy Brouwer after he cleared waivers. Why do all of Bubbles favourites - Ballard, Booth and Brouwer all get bought out? Did Stanton get bought out? Is McGinn on the verge of being bought out?

The two darlings of the 2013 draft - McKinnon and Drouin contine to bust badly. 3 goals 9 assists for the Great generational - McKinnon and 2 goals and 8 assists for Drouin. Habs will regret trading Sergachyov
