2026-27 Prediction Thread

Post by Cornuck »

I think we're close enough to the start of the season to start voicing our predictions on how this season will go.

Last place again? Winning it all? Playoffs? Where do we end up?

Lottery team....can't see last happening again.

Saves the NHL the hassle of fucking us over again at least.

Toss up between lottery and last. Given Dupont, we may have a tank race so odds are we are just a lottery team, even if we are actually the worst.

I don't see us finishing last again - but I don't see enough improvement in the lineup to be much more than a lottery team.
Even an extra 30 points over last year still puts us in the bottom 10. We added character over skill in the offseason, and management seems to see this as a year to get things to a base level, and then start growing.

I don't expect any great strides from either the vets or the kids, so the biggest difference will be 'how long does Demko last' - and if he's winning and stable, then it becomes "when does Demko get traded?"

We're in a holding pattern this year, and unless a lot of players overacheive, we're looking at 5% chance or better at 1OA.

Just like I predict every year, they’re going to win the Stanley Cup!
One of these years I’ll be right and be able to say, “I told you so”, right….right?

Bottom of the lottery team. Demko is toast, and I just hope Chytil can stay well enough to enjoy his retirement.

I'm all in on this direction though.

We'll be in the lotto, and yet again fall back in the draft as far as possible.

Hope to be in the bottom 5 as this is a strong draft with pieces available in the top 10 we will need in the rebuild.

Wow, the optimism.

I think the Canucks will overperform to screw up their draft position, though of course not so much as to actually make the playoffs, and maybe not so much that the Little Eagle's bail early on the re-build.
