Maybe a thread for this topic works.

Maybe not.

Regardless.

This hit my inbox today (apologies for the layout, it won't capture properly off the email and onto my phone so I had to segment it)....

All together now

Seems Old Jim agrees with our resident Dude re team structure.

Seems like a fair assessment. I don't disagree with any of what he says, in fact I think he sugarcoats this season's happenings a little bit.

Essentially though it comes down to the players (one in particular) and how they follow the directing to approach their off-season training with increased intensity and urgency.

Wrinkles is just stating the obvious.

Along with putting pressure on himself to produce a top centre.

Yeah, kiss Willy and that first rounder goodbye...

They could go a long way to easing anxiety by getting Willander signed. I don’t like how the dissed him publicly. Even if they are right that he is making a bad financial decision they don’t need to diss him. What does it accomplish by saying they think he is making a mistake. Just praise him and say he is an important part of the future. This conduct has been an evident part of their management style.

This release sugar coats while not sugar coating. But it is basically the truth. If they could go back to the 2024 TDD, knowing what they know now, I think they take the Carolina deal. But, and it is a big but, fans were split and the overwhelming opinion was you keep the younger player. So had they made that move they would have taken a beating. But we would have Miller, likely Tocchet and a happier Quinn.

Written statements get proofread......that's the only reason why he didn't.

...and Necas, Kotkaniemi.

A faster, better team with far fewer unknowns moving forward.

Eastern media rumour-mongering again about Aquas willing to sell. MacIntyre speculating that perhaps they need more cash flow due to recent developments in downturns in real estate.

Probably all BS, but we seriously need a change if we ever want to live Long enough to see a cup.

Yeah speculation of them looking for a partner but maintaining control of the team

Speculation that Daddy and the Bro's have had enough of "Team Drama".

They bought the package for 250 mill and it's now worth around 1.8 billion.

Topper still stands by this being the play the entire time, Cup be damned.

The family is said to be worth 3.5 billion, top 25ish in Canada and continue to acquire assets.

I don't believe they have cash flow problems.

Ya the leading rumour is they may shop the team but not the building. Of course no one wants just the team. So maybe there is some truth but I haven’t seen serious interest in them selling.

"... our players have been directed to approach their training with increased urgency and intensity ..."

I hope that's not all fluff.

It's already fluff imo....

..so they didn't train hard or with urgency in previous years?

You're a pro player.

You train your ass off to be the absolute best you can be every off season.

If your players are not doing that you have the wrong players.

Sidney Crosby or Nate MacKinnon couldn't "approach their training with blah blah blah"....

Because they already do so.

Every fucking off season.

It's why they're great and successful.

Crosby was on the ice working out with injured Pens the day after his season ended ffs.

No wonder Miller was pissed off...
