She got a little bit of Gary Busey going on in the face but you can bet you could bounce one of those quarters off that ass...being a former high level athlete and all...

My number is $100 (im paying!)

2nd year in a row. First time ever. They need to dismantle the management and coaching staff and re-think the type of teams they want to send to the tourney.

Apparently George was one of the only ones on the ice today for the optional skate. The others may have been seen riding scooters.

Supposedly Cameron skipped a few practice sessions for the team. Hopefully he never does anything for the team again.

Wonder if Bedard, Celebrini or Benson would have made a difference.

Bad result, bad coaching, dumb penalties, can't kill a penalty. A few oversights when picking the team. Most people still cheer for the sweater. Some folks just cheer for the winner.

14 players were from Ontario, the rich kids were sent home early, like Don Cherry said, they picked the wrong players, to many better kids were left sitting at home.

Politics is hurting Hockey Canada. Pinelli should not have been on the team over Sennecke or Cristall but he was because Cameron is his coach. Cameron is an idiot, he put skilled players with plumbers (McKenna with Pinelli) and didn’t play his skilled players enough, and by the time he started playing McKenna and Yager more the team started playing better but it was too late.

They built the team based on old ways - a blue collar team. That don’t fly anymore, not in this era. It’s a short tourney you send your brightest and most skilled. All the dumb penalties was a sign of low hockey IQ running through the players. Ya needed more Yagers out there with high hockey IQ instead of meat heads like Pinelli and Cowan.

Just a poorly picked team, that’s on management and coaching. and a poorly picked coaching staff, that’s on management. Management seems to be at the heart of the problem.

Don Cherry can be a numb skull sometimes but he makes a good point here, a point that some have been arguing for a long time.

“Hockey Canada has to get with it and hire full-time coaches for the World Jrs, Under 18, Under 17 and get some consistency.”

With independent coaching and management you avoid politics that can creep into the thinking where you get coaches and GM’s biased in their selections like we saw with Cameron wanting his guy Pinelli, love is blind.

One American player said it perfectly leading up to the newly formatted CHL prospects game - Canadians vs Americans in that the American players all know each other from playing together growing up through the program, and it’s through the program where they develop chemistry learning to play a more unified team game whereas in the CHL it’s more focused on the individual, the stars and relying on them to get you through.

They need to give more control to an independent body that isn’t tied to the WHL, OHL, Q etc., and have these top elite level kids come together more often like in the US program. It’s not that we lack skill, it’s the organization that needs to be overhauled, but the old guard refuses to let go of their old ways. It’s time for a change

Czech players were in their dressing room singing the Team Canada goal song after yesterday's game.

I don’t think anyone outside of Canada is aware that you claim ownership to Opus’s Live is Life.
It’s a very common song at hockey games, just like Hey Baby.

And it’s an Austrian song. The Czechs border Austria and used to be part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire that was dissolved in 1918.

Fun Trivia, Otto von Habsburg, the rightful heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, later served as a member of the European Parliament for the conservative CSU, representing Bavaria. And later his son Karl von Habsburg (the current rightful heir) has represented the conservative ÖPP for Austria. The old monarchs adjusting to democracy.

The one thing over all the years I've never understood is why Canada changes the coach every year. Stick with the same guy if he wins for fuck sakes. And why is 3/4 of the team from the OHL? Nobody from the Q was worthy? Pretty scant representation outside of Ontario. Tij Iginla dent even get invited to the camp despite being a recent high pick and scoring 1.5 points per game. Some heads should roll.
