Red Bull Rampage - the premier Freeride Mountain Bike event in the world.
Squamish's Brendan Seminuck is now a FIVE TIME Champion, closest is Nelson's Kurt Sorge with three.
Highlights of yesterday's event. Fucking amazing what these guys are doing in the Utah desert mountains.

Summer McIntosh is killing it at the World Champs in Budapest.
New world record in 200m Butterfly knocking 0.3 second off the previous record and then an astounding 3 second faster than the previous record in the 400m medley. Hold also in 400m freestyle.

Yeah, we talked about her during the Olympics here as well.
Could end up winning medals in the teens and setting an "untouchable" world Record or two
A reach but she could challenge Ledecky with a some luck.
I think she had 3 4ths in Olympic relays so very close to 5 or 6 at 18.
Ledecky has 14.

Shanda Hill

just became the first and only woman to complete the South Africa Deca Ultra Triathlon.
Hill will return to Vernon early next week to rest and heal her injured abductor muscle. She has 41 days before her next race, the Brazil Ultra Tri in Rio de Janeiro, which begins May 1.
She was 2nd overall -

I realize you donkeys don't care about anything besides Trump and hockey....
...butt...
...2 Canadians won titles this weekend.
Both Felix Auger-Aliassime with an ATP event win in Belgium and Leylah Fernandez with a WTA win in Japan added to their overall professional trophy cases.
It was her 5th career title and 2nd this year while it was his 8th overall win (tying him with Milos Raonic for most by a Canadian in the Open Era) and 3rd in 2025.
With both Victoria Mboko (#23 in world rankings) and Fernandez (#22) winning on the women's tour this year & Felix (#12 in world rankings), Denis Shapovalov (#23) and Gabriel Diallo (#41) competing well on the men's side Canadian tennis is in as positive a place as perhaps ever in history.

So Auger-Aliassime has made another ATP final, this time a Masters Series event in Paris with the majority of the top pros in the field.
He will face world #2 Janik Sinner in the finals which will be a tough ask, Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are another level above the balance of the top men's field (a la Federer, Djokovic, Nadal in recent history), but still a moving on up accomplishment.
In the WTA Victoria Mboko and Laylah Fernandez met in the semi finals of the Hong Kong event with Mboko outlasting Laylah in 3 sets.
The Canadian has a great chance of victory against an unranked opponent which would be her 2nd win of the year.
Both Auger-Aliassime and Mboko will vault up world rankings with Felix solidifying himself within the top 10 and Mboko moving into the top 20 for the first time in her career.
Again, good times for Canadian tennis.

Auger-Aliassime lost 4-6 6-7 (4-7) to Sinner who now passes Alcaraz for world #1.
A more than solid showing for the Canadian.
Mboko won in 3.
She may climb into the world top 15.
Her game is ascending rapidly (although historically Canadians seem to hit walls for whatever reason....Raonic & Andreescu for example).
Looking forward to seeing how she performs in GS #1 in Oz come January '26.
