Re: Abbotsford Canucks Discussion - Offseason and Camp
So AHL tv has been taken over by a group called FloHockey and they're promising innovation and an improved viewing experience. To go with all of that comes a hefty price increase, up from $95 to watch a season of Abby hockey home and away to a whopping $228 CAD to watch all the AHL games as well as all CHL, NCAA, BCHL, USHL right down to Sicamous vs 100 Mile in the illustrious KIJHL.
Oh well, in for a penny in for a pound I guess.

Ouch - great if you're a scout, I guess. Most fans in those leagues really don't care about the other leagues do they? I would say that if anyone does get this package, though - the USHL would carry the USNDT, which will likely have a few draft picks on its roster.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2024 6:59 pm So AHL tv has been taken over by a group called FloHockey and they're promising innovation and an improved viewing experience. Yeah, I selected the USDP as one of my favorites along with Sicamous, Waywayseecappo, and some others.Cornuck wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2024 6:24 amOuch - great if you're a scout, I guess. Williams Lake goes up 1-0 on 100 Mile on a 5 on 3 power play.

KIJHL is not great hockey, but the raw energy live in a small rink is a blast. Not sure how that will transfer to video. I suspect it looks like slow scrappy hockey.
These kids play their hearts out for the love of the game. If a team is lucky, just maybe a kid will get a late season signing to a Jr A level team and move up or manage to pick up a college scholarship some where.
The teams also do a ton of community service in their towns and when the team is winning, the whole community gets behind them. Urban Dudes will never understand.

You mean like a barn raising or a hoedown.
Here in the city we don't really do it, but even as a city guy I think I can appreciate community spirit when I see it.

Come to think of it, I have attended the annual Dunderave Hoedown on a couple of occasions.
It's a cowboy themed affair. Real community vibe to it.
