I read that Jersey is shopping Hall.
Just to get in front of that, make sure everyone says HARD NO to a Late 20's, career peaked, soon-to-be UFA who will be looking for an 9-10million (ish) salary. Not saying he won't have a couple good years, just saying those years best not be here.

Between cap recapture and Benning's spending habits there is no real reality that Hall ends up here

That's what they said about Myers until Jimmy went to work on him.

I'd rather have Muzzin

Barry would fill more of a need, Travis wants to have aggressive dmen that can skate the puck, Barry fits the bill like Myers and Quinn. Speaking of which those two look really good together, they get going in the offensive zone and it’s like the team has a power play with how they control the puck.

I like Barrie but not at an 8spot thanks. If he comes home for a deal thats a different story though...those wheels are world class.
Muzzin would fill a greater need than Barrie though(physical defensive presence)...to my red eye anyways

Lenovo is to forwards what Lil Trojan is to defenders
Expand that to Sutter, Benn, Fatburger, Schaller, Motte and Beaglet and you’re more accurate
Notice how our PK has fallen off without Sutter and Beagle? I know, just a coincidence.

The point is that all of them are just placeholders.. and some of them are fragile placeholders at best. You can’t count on them. Sure the PK will suffer without the experience of Sutter and Beagle or the speed of Motte. Bottom line is in year 6 it would be nice if this administration developed some of its own bottom six players instead of paying through the nose for them.

In any case it's finally nice to have quality AHL'er callups who can be consistent NHLer's like MacEwen and Gravoac.
And that's after like 5 injuries (Roussel, Ferland, Sutter, Beagle, Motte) with Goldy scratched and Baertschi sent down to Utica.
Why you keep as much NHL depth as you can, as you can have like 6-8 guys injured at any given time.

Like Gaudette and MacEwen??
When the cupboards were as bare as we had them, shooting for top 6 talent in drafts (which usually end s up as either working or busts) and returning prospects in the trades is the right idea. Way easier - and way less risky in the cap world to purchase bottom 6 guys and pay an extra couple million than risk 6 million plus dollar contracts for top 6 guys that play like AHL'rs.
