We aren’t renewing this year. Finally had enough and the business that pays for them is struggling a bit. The direction of the team made it an easy decision.

Josh Norris is QH’s best friend in hockey and a burgeoning two way centre with upside, but possibly tradeable from Ottawa due to his injury history. Hate to buy a cracked pot but this seems like the best way to show QH that you care about the team and also having an ally in a very likely still fractured room that was dominated by Miller.

I’d trade Boeser and/or Garland plus.

Hughes and Garland are tight. Garland named Quinn his newborn’s godfather.

Ah. Well what about the general idea that QH is not the secret GM but is consulted on trades? As a way of keeping him empowered but also for his take on who is has the right stuff?

i'd love to see the Canucks keep him,but if i was in his shoes i'd probably want to test the UFA market. If a team doesn't give a above average offer for him i can see the Canucks keeping him for the rest of the season.

Agreed.

Boeser, Suter and Forbort need to go. I keep Soucy unless someone overpays.

FartHand is a fucking idiot though. Nice guy but a moron.

Or they sign by the TDD, which seems unlikely.

If BB and Suter are not signed, get what you can. Hell, retain 50% on both for a better return. BB at $3.3 mil fits almost every team's cap.

If Suter is traded, without an equivalent centre coming back in the deal, Van's depth at centre is non-existent. Blueger would be the #2 guy and boy oh boy that makes me excited to watch some Canucks hockey for the remaining 22 games.

I'd say our 2nd line center is Chytil, and then Suter, Blueger and Raty. But yeah, we'd be a bit thin. But....if Suter is looking for a retirement contract based on his best year ever, it ain't us. Suter isn't a 2nd line center anyways. He's a 3rd line center, and a middle 6 winger somdays. However, he is cheap and can fill a lot of different roles. He has a lot of value, imo. Sign on the dotted line by Thursday, or be a 2nd round pick on Friday. Throw Bains or Aman in as well. Billy Bean their asses :D

They still have Chytil as a de facto 2C. Bluegers’ play has fallen off a cliff, PK-work aside, but he could fill in at 3C - just don’t expect much offense from hm in that role. Put Raty, Sasson or some other scrub to fill in at 4C. Not as much of a nightmare as you’d say, but it is paper-thin. One injury at center and it gets mucho ugly then. Then again, this season’s team is done, even if they make the playoffs, so we should manage our expectations as fans accordingly.

Put yourself in the owners shoes. Your 1 pt out of a playoff position/ playoff revenue. Even though you know chances of getting past the 1st rd are slim
you still want those 2 games of gate.
I'd trade Boeser as long as the return was right to improve the team either now or for the future, but then you'd need every other secondary scorer to carry you through the last 20 games. It's not just about getting assets for expiring contracts, playoff gate matters.

Fans in general matter. If they either dump picks for a rental, or let our "own" rentals just walk, they will be selling the future (again), and total revenue will drop as some of us fans get fed up with never ending bad management. 2 playoff games (37,000 seats) don't replace 2000 empty seats over 41 games along with a drop in merch and the rest of the benefits that come with a fan base that doesn't feel fucked over.
