End of the day, Rödin never got a fair shot at proving himself in the NHL.

That freak knee injury was really unfortunate both for him and the Canucks.
The way he played that last season in Sweden, that was definitely NHL worthy.
Ya, I would have liked the Canucks to have kept him and given at least 20 games, but it is what it is.

I was referring to last year, when he was thrown into the grinder in the pre-season, and wound up re-injuring his knee.

If he could have started in SHL last season, and signed in, say, December/January with the Canucks, maybe his knee wouldn't have been re-injured and his shot at the NHL lost.

Just speculating here, of course.

Is Peterson the top NHL team affiliated prospect in the world right now? Can't think of anyone else who isn't playing in the NHL right now. Heiskanen?

I think Pettersson may be losing his edge. :(

He only had an assist today (well, apart from hitting the frame) as Växjö beat local rivals HV71 2-1 at home.

That brings him to a mere 29 points (11G 18A) in 22 games, just one measly point ahead of Skellefteå's Joakim Lindström in second place in SHL scoring.

The all time season stats for a U20 player in the SHL really do flatter him though:
http://www.eliteprospects.com/league_to ... &order=PPG

Comparing PPG, he is having a better season than either of Forsberg, Gradin, Näslund or the Sedins did at this age. Only Magic Man Kent Nilsson could top what Elias brings, and that was a different era, with goalies having skinny leg pads.

Now wipe that drool off of your face! He's just a kid!

Edit: can't seem to get the link to work. Help, mods? Please?

Like a good preacher I have converted a few.

All I ever say is that Europe and AHL means only a little to how successful they will be in the NHL.
