Bloomer has had a twenty-goal season down in Kalamazoo. He isn't AHL-ready yet and may never be. I wouid think he'd be the worst player currently under contract to the Canucks at the moment, but I might be forgetting someone.

Abby picked up Khaira at the AHL trade deadline for future considerations, if memory serves. Juhjar hasn't been much to write home about so far, but he had himself a game tonight.

Woo and Raty were banged up in the last game and can't go. Arty back in the nets.

Playoff style Kambietz in for ineffective Klimovich. Lekkerimaki is back and looking much better. He's on the first line.

Firebirds with the edge in play in the first but the Canucks emerge up 2-0.

Hirose at the point set up Smith on the doorstep and he bats his own rebound out of the air and by Nikke Kokko from in tight to make the score 1-0 Abby on the first Canuck shot of the period.

Lekkerimaki passes back to Kudryavtsev, and he sails it through a crowd and by Kokko with 22 seconds left in the period to take a 2-0 lead into the first intermission.

No damage either way in the second period. The highlight was probably Bains missing a wide-open net on an Abbotsford power play.

Lekkerimaki looks like a different player without the contraption on his face.

The score after two periods: Abbotsford 2 and Coachella Valley no score.

Third period: some sloppy work in the Abby end leads to a Joe Arntsen giveaway and Ryan Winterton beats Arty to get Coachella on the board.

@Blob McKenzie Sammy Blais has been the best player in these playoffs for Abby. He's been a beast, and I think he's earned a two-way contract somewhere next year. Hopefully he's back here with the Canucks.

Was watching the Stars - Jets game, went to get refreshments, had to stay in the truck and listen to the end of the Abby game. Exciting!
