Yes it is a delusion and a mental disorder. A grown up thinking they’re a child is classed as a delusion. A woman thinking she’s a horse is classed as a delusion. Someone constantly feeling like they’re being watched is classed as a delusion. A sane person cannot possibly believe claims that while all of the above are classed as delusions, someone thinking they’re a gender they’re quite clearly not, isn’t. It doesn’t make any sense whatsoever, and any scientific research or organization that spouts this nonsense clearly does so due to political and social pressure, and the profit of businesses advertising products or services aimed specifically at this group of people, another one of the wonders of capitalism, taking advantage of people at their lowest. Gender dysphoria is just a form of psychosis, and their “deeply held” sense of gender identity is no different to a delusion, a fixed belief that goes against reality and causes them distress. To them - the patients - it is real! But to the rest of the world, it can’t, and it *shouldn’t* be. The simple fact is that depression, suicide and other coexisting mental health disorder rates are miles high in people who are suffering from this delusion, and it’s not due to their “treatment by society”, it’s because one disorder tends to accompany the other, they’re inherently mentally ill and they’re not receiving the right treatment for it, instead they’re being told “Yeah! Keep going and you’ll be just fine”, given a pat on the shoulder, and driven towards making poor life choices like “gender affirming” surgeries and hormone therapies, pouring endless money into the pockets of greedy surgeons and drug corporations, making their pockets fatter without addressing the problem at its root. This whole tolerance and acceptance campaign is nothing more than an experiment of sorts aimed at determining whether mentally ill, delusional people can ever be at peace if the rest of the world bends to their will and indulges in their fantasies, and so far it’s failing as their suicide and depression rates are still at an all time high. Those people shouldn’t be allowed to live in a fantasy world and they shouldn’t be blindly hated and discriminated against either, I can’t stress this enough but what they need is help, professional, psychiatric help and support, as early as possible, in order to ensure that they don’t live a life of misery, confusion and regret.
