Ottawa trying to start over. Or something. Probably want to be a cap floor team and try once again.

He has a point. Embarassing
But his point is hypocritical. Cherry's principle defence of fighting in hockey is "the fans love it". Clearly, the fans in Carolina love this. So is consumer preference in what is ultimately an entertainment business a trump card, or not ?
Possibly what Don (and you) don't like is hockey moving into a non-traditional market with a different sporting culture. That's fine, but then your beefs are with Gary.

Don Cherry is a klown.
Getting all wound up about that shit makes him look like grumpy old prick. It’s about time to give him the hook

Just read that Duchene's camp turned down an offer of $8M x 8 years.
The guy has clocked 70 points just once in his career, and at 28 years of age is finally producing above a 1ppg pace for the first time. Does he think he's worth $10M?

He won’t be able to pull that kind of money elsewhere (max term is 7 years once he’s a UFA). I don’t see anyone giving him $9M per.
Perhaps he’s willing to take less just to be out of the Dumpster Fire that is the Sens organization.

With what we have to sign, there is no-way he's worth that much for us.
Better than a good player but not a true superstar and there have been rumors surrounding what kind of team-mate he is.

We don't need a center.
Pettersson
Horvat
Gaudette
Beagle.
We need wingers. Everyone should be saying 'Hard No' on centers that are available.

I don't think anyone is suggesting that Vancouver should sign Duchene.

Replying to @ItsMcAvoy73
Official: #Bruins acquired Charlie Coyle from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for a 2nd Round Pick in the 2019 NHL Draft and Jakob Zbroil

That "2nd and Zboril" is actually
Donato and a 5th.

In 2010 we traded the 25th overall for Keith Ballard. These are the kind of players who were available:
26th overall - Evgeny Kuznetsov
28th overall - Charlie Coyle
30th overall - Brock Nelson
Our GM after the trade was made - “we didn’t like what was up on board so we felt confident in making the trade”

It’s 2019 Chief, how’s the shadow boxing going ?

Just getting a little nostalgic with all this talk of Charlie Coyle of late
