Of course we should move all the pending UFAs for picks and assets. I would love if our incredible management group would also shed some vets who are willing to waive their nmcs for more picks.

It would be good for this franchise, especially if we keep freakin' winning and take ourselves out of the lottery for the franchise-changing type players.

Footer is running a system that is really effective for a lowly team with borderline players. Without superstars in the lineup, they all seem to have bought in, each playing their roles and not more than that.

Even Kane is not floating around much. He's still crying to the refs a lot after the whistle, but at least it's after he's taken the puck to the net with a high-grade scoring chance. All the other vets have been very solid and the D has really been steady. Hronek has quietly stepped up and shown me an assertiveness I have never seen before from him.

They haven't played with any fear against teams that are much better on paper. Also, clearly the 3 new guys have quietly added much needed depth to the counterattack. Guys like Raty or Karlsson aren't necessarily fast, but the system gives them angles where they can defend effectively and cause turnovers.

Many of the goals are of the opportunistic variety and of course that f'n HG induced shooting%, surely isn't helping the tank.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind if EP was LTIR'd for the rest of the season. This team is just more enjoyable to watch now without all the drama that rides on his scooter. I don't care about his Sulky abilities. However, I feel that IF Sherwood and perhaps if Kane is moved, the rest of the team won't be able to sustain this and the tank will start moving again. But it might be too late by then because we'll probably be 1st in the Pacific.

Honestly, if ownership wasn't so myopic and management didn't screw up so bad, we'd have similar "3 lesser talents" AND QH AND greater top line talent... this would be a whole new team, a whole new era.
