David Ayres is a hero we all need but didn't deserve. He is one of us, an average everyday Joe, who got to live the dream of playing an NHL game. He didn't just play, he actually won a game for the team. The best part was how the Canes galvanized together and raised their level of their game to get that W for the guy. You can't write a movie script better than that.

This all happening against an overrated Laffs team is just icing on the cake.

If there's such a thing, I vote that we enshrine David Ayres into the CC Hall of Fame.

He definitely deserved some recognition.
