Inflicting defeat on a nuclear superpower has always been a delicate operation. In Russia's case, their nuclear doctrine allows for the use of nukes if the threat is judged to be existential. I can't imagine leaders of the past like Reagan, HW Bush, and Thatcher throwing caution to the wind in this way.
I keep hearing fear of nuclear war is a boomer thing, maybe it is so.

He has repeatedly confused Biden with Obama and Nikki Haley with Nancy Pelosi. He fell asleep at his criminal trial.
Will the media scrutinize his age and mental decline with the fervor it focused on Biden?

That was the very valid reasoning early on. Ukraine has now been promised F-16s, make sure they are armed. Recall the anti aircraft defense system Canada donated but was held up by delays in Senate approval. I can see Don clearing that roadblock put up by his Republicans by having tough discussions with Vlad and replacing the actor in Ukraine.
