Let's hope that 1 or 2 of:

Riley Patterson
Kieran Dervin
Anthony Romani
Vilmer Arliksson
Gabe Chiarot

...can expand their games and show some growth and promise for the future.

To supplement weaker organizational forward depth we could deal from a position of strength (D and goaltending) as well should the need arise moving forward......

I was looking at the Abbey roster for this season. On D we have some good prospects and potential in net. But man up front there is really no one left, other than maybe Sasson, who gets me excited. All of our so called potential prospects are on the big club.

Allvin needs to start to process of restocking.
They have no choice other than to re-stock the bare cupboards. It’s bad. If not it will be this regimes legacy. They all have their legacies good and bad, but hey? Defence and goaltending? Heartwarming.

All of the three previous regimes hemoraged and made shitty picks. I know know Dude wants to drag this into the ditch and make it about Elms, but mistakes have been made by all three admistrations. Gillis had the horses and should have dealt away more picks including Hodgson, Sauve, 2011, 2012 etc. If Elmer didn't learn to whistle he wouldn't know which end to wipe. He was Aqua's puppet. Rutherfird/Allvin have this year and next to turn this thing around.

Bottom lin is to cash in on top 15 picks and a gem or two each draft. Poach a couple of the Canes scouts. Best drafting team in the league.

They gave Cootes a taste. Good move to send him down to Seattle.

Yeah. The kid had a training camp that earned him the spot, but if the Edmonton game didn’t say as much, last night’s debacle against the Blues laid out that the kid just isn’t ready to play with the big boys yet.

He is an encouraging prospect, but time for him to cook some more. Hope to see him over the Holidays with the World Juniors.

It’s a deep top 10 in 2026. Would be sweet to get in the top 10

be sweeter to get in the top 10 via trade opposed to standings :)

Getting Cootes away from whatever the fuck ails the Canucks is probably wise. He's a lock for the team Canada WJ team.

With the Olympics coming we can endure another dud season and still enjoy the sport I guess :look:

Not sure he's a lock. They have a ton of good forwards.

With Martin, Kindel, Senneke, and Misa still up with their big clubs this opens the door some. Will they stay the course remains to be seen. The real hurt for team Canada is potentially not having Schaefer. With the way he’s playing it would be a miracle seeing him at the tourney. Here’s who Cootes is competing with…yeah it’s deep:

McQueen
Martone
Iginla
Desnoyers
Hage
Reschny
Spence
Boisvert
Lidsttom
McKenna
Belchetz
Preston
Lawrence
Roobroeck
O’Brien
Catton (still with Seattle but will go down eventually)

Belchetz, Hage, Spence, Preston, O’Brien are flying out of the gates this season.

Some competition on D as well. Don’t think we are getting Schaefer or Parekh. Brunicke is still up with the Penguins but I think he’s going to get sent down.

Lin
Verhoeff
Dickinson
Smith
DuPont
Reid
Mews
Aitcheson
Danford
Elik

Nice article about Cootes going back to Junior at CA - https://canucksarmy.com/news/braeden-co ... er-canucks
“I mean, I for sure still have work to do. There’s no question about that. But, I think I’m pretty close. I think just tuning up a few more things, getting faster, getting stronger. I mean, just getting older, too. Just in general, as a human being will help. Coming down here in Seattle and working each day to get better, playing good, winning games here, trying to drive the bus here with this team. There’s still tons of work to be done, but yeah, I think I can make that jump next year, and it’s on me to make sure I’m ready for it.”
