He (L.Reichel) has 4 points in 5 games so far this season.
Meh, we need a legitimate centre more than anything.

Feels a bit like a Kravtsov/Baercheese/Goldobin move again. I don't expect much, but we'll see. Give him a chance I guess. Our mgmt team seems to have been trying to get him for awhile now.

So you're saying that JR/PA just ripped Chicago off by sending them a 4th rounder for a player who is potentially a 246 point player?

Plan the fucking parade.
sarcasm, dude, sarcasm.

I think they did what they needed to do to try to hold the fort.

And who knows, maybe he hits big here. He has a pretty good pedigree.

Sometimes a change of scenery is needed.

Limited cap hit and rfa after this year so no damage there.
Yup, Reichel will see many organizations and leagues before his career is done.

Interesting on this kid. He was drafted as a centre but did not get the chance to really play centre for Chicago. Allvin thinks his best days are ahead of him and they think it can be at centre, he will get the chance with the Canucks to play there. Between the lines I read that the Canucks think he was mis-cast on the Hawks and has not been given a chance to properly develop his game in the NHL game. Of course this could just be smoke and justification. But the cost was low, return to Chicago their 4th rounder in 2027.

Allvin has also said they are not willing to part with their 2026 1st rounder. We will see I guess as it is hard to imagine them going the whole season with such a glaring hole at centre. Does he have the stones to go centre by committee for one year??

Yeah, maybe, hope so, no breath holding here.

We are so soft down the middle.

Sigh....

Why are we soft in the middle? The rest of the league is so hard..."

The only way to “rly” fix the centre ice is this:

1. Trade the 2026 1st rd pick
2. Trade Tom Willander
3. Trade Demko
4. Trade Quinn Hughes
5. Trade D-man Elias
6. Trade Cootes

If you ain’t willing to do that then the Reichels are the route they have to go.

The 2026 draft class is a very good class (deep class). Allvin should be fired if he traded the pick as we are pretty much a lottery team fighting for a wildcard position. And if we sneak in back door of the playoffs we are first round fodder.

If we trade the 2026 1st and any of our top prospects the organization will be in the mushy middle for eternity.
