(or explore matching and trading to a third team?)
Can't trade the player for one year after matching...

If I’m them I’m matching Holloway, putting Kane on LTIR and letting Broberg walk. Holloway’s speed and forechecking makes him a legit NHLer and he still has some scoring upside. Broberg might live up to his new contract, but there’s a better chance he isn’t a legitimate top four defencemen and won’t.

I don't usually copy from sports writers, but this is just too good. The Hockey News printed this gem about the Oilers defense.
"Stecher is a two-way defender who is more than worth his weight in gold." And "there are encouraging signs that he has what it takes to be a regular second or third pairing defenseman."
Sorry in advance to anyone who spit coffee on their keyboard or anyone who gets a laugh induced aneurysm ( Blobbie, I'm thinking of you, buddy)
The Province thinks we could help the Oil out of their jam by trading for Brett Kulak in exchange for Poolman's LTIR. Says Kulak is a marginal upgrade over Forbort and a clear upgrade over Juulsen. Bringing him in would mean sending Juulsen to the minors (oh noes!).
Sounds good to me... but only if we don't have to add a sweetener. Fuck the Oil sideways.

LOL, I laughed at that article, dumb. Yeah, lets help out the division rival. Kulak and Cecci make more than Poolman. Kulak has two years remaining on his deal, Cecci 1 year, Juulson is is better than Cecci or Kulak and just signed near league minimum
Juulson would would be claimed if waived to Abby.
Poolman and his LTIR management issues is better than adding a Forbort clone to the roster.
Just stupid.

Yeah, my no likey.
Kulak is overpaid by $1M.
I like bottom pairing guys Desharnais, Forbort, and Juulsen better than Kulak.

Yeah, if it was a:
Kulak + 1st for Poolman's LTIR, I would do it if I were the Canucks. Short of that ...... probably not.
Ya I laughed at the part, that we would help the Oilers make cap room, but in doing so we would have to add a sweetener. Like really. It is the other way around. You got major cap problems? We have a partial solution but it will cost you. Only in Canuck land do we do it the other way around and call it a win.
Hey...anyone have starlink? Topper? On your taco? (I've seen them on welder rigs)Thinking of giving it a go over the Telus hub that's only average for streaming NHL.

When I was still on the acreage, I had starlink. It worked great. I had a telus hub before that, and it was super shitty at our location.

My experience with Telus hub has ben a little better than your sounded like but it's still throttled down to 25 MPS download so sometimes you get a bit of hacking during peak times with the hockey games. It's getting less per year
My issue is the quality of picture. I'd love to get 4K hockey and that would require at least 75 mps minimum to function properly. Did you ever speed test your connection on starlink?
Small remote town in South Central BC, I had explore net and a local radio? beacon system. Star Link became available just as I was wrapping up. Several friends got it and it was the best option available. I've used it a few times while visiting, good but not as good as my fibre optic at home.

Had Starlink up here for a year - it was decent. Average was 50Mbps down, 25-30 Up. Sometimes got up to 120-130Mbps down. Latency was it's downfall... still 60-70ms. Barely good enough for Teams/Zoom meetings etc. Caused issues with some apps/websites. No issues streaming.
Also, due to our latitude, we'd experience dropouts when satellites were out of reach, as there weren't enough servicing the North. Likely wouldn't be an issue there. But it did have some random connection issues.
Now have Fibre finally thanks to the Feds and their buy rural votes programs. Night and day better. A much more consistent connection.
