No need to project limits on to the first 1OA in franchise history before we've ever even seen him in the NHL.JelloPuddingPop wrote: ↑Fri Dec 12, 2025 5:39 pm We will never again see a player of his ilk in a Canucks uniform.
I'm with you Carl. It's unbearable.Carl Yagro wrote: ↑Fri Dec 12, 2025 5:32 pm Yeah man, I’m done.
Can even the HGs keep this team from the best odds at the 1st overall?
Hope it’s equally as bad next season, forcing the ouster of this regime and EP begging to be traded too.
Buium being Jewish American is sure to be castrated by those allowed to take over our country by the Liberal Gov't.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Fri Dec 12, 2025 5:49 pm *not seeing the Jewish thing though guys. What's that all about?
He’s a good player. I think reuniting ohgren with Lekkerimaki will be be good for both playersdonlever wrote: ↑Fri Dec 12, 2025 5:28 pmHe also tallied 19 goals and 37 points over 41 games in the AHL last year...so let's call a spade a spade.Mëds wrote: ↑Fri Dec 12, 2025 5:21 pm Liam Ohgren.....another fucking Swede, I'm glad that Rutherford and Allvin are probably gone after this. He has 0 points in 18 games with the Wild this year and 5 points in 9 games in the AHL. At 21 years of age he's hardly setting the world on fire. Low expectations, likely back in the SHL when he's 25.
Possibly. Although Boeser is not has heavily overpaid, he has always been a guy that needed a Bertuzzi to his Naslund (to use Canucks historical parlance).
Did you mean circumcised.....oh wait, that ship as likely sailed. Sorry.donlever wrote: ↑Fri Dec 12, 2025 5:52 pmBuium being Jewish American is sure to be castrated by those allowed to take over our country by the Liberal Gov't.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Fri Dec 12, 2025 5:49 pm *not seeing the Jewish thing though guys. I jest Megs but something like that....
Rossi is old? Drafted in 2020, same draft as Lafreniere, Byfield, Stutzle. Is that old?Ronning's Ghost wrote: ↑Fri Dec 12, 2025 5:20 pmOnly if you hold the Minnesota scouting department in high esteem.
I mostly agree with this part of your analysis, with the exceptions that:Lancer wrote: ↑Fri Dec 12, 2025 5:06 pm The most valuable part of the haul is the first round pick. Buium will likely do the American thing and bolt at the first opportunity - being Jewish in a Canadian market puts a bullseye on the poor kid. Ohgren has utterly underwhelmed and Rossi is a shrimp who has never been a PPG player.
They’re placeholders till Pettersson is gone and the next wave, starting with this draft, is ready for bigger minutes.
1) Ohgren might not have done anything impressive yet, but he's awfully young to give up on, and Swedes tend to thrive in Vancouver.
2) Rossi is short, but not tiny. That minor defence aside, there doesn't seem to have been anything impressive about him so far, and unlike the other two, I think he's too old to hope for much further development.
3) I think that some of the next wave is already with the organization. I think that Raty, Cootes, and Willander could still be with the team the next time they go deep into the playoffs.
Edit:
4) Even if Buium never gets comfortable in Vancouver, he's still pretty clearly an asset. If it seems like he wants to move on, do the pump 'n' dump and flip for an asset they can use, or parlay.
I meant before this season started, but yeah, we knew JR would do this. Was hoping FA would come to his senses first.
That's a big IF.Ronning's Ghost wrote: ↑Fri Dec 12, 2025 5:50 pmNo need to project limits on to the first 1OA in franchise history before we've ever even seen him in the NHL.JelloPuddingPop wrote: ↑Fri Dec 12, 2025 5:39 pm We will never again see a player of his ilk in a Canucks uniform.
